It's more likely it's something to do with a higher clocked Titan to beat the R9 290x by 3% for $1500. That or their occulus rift like tech they have been working on.

That would be super nice. And i mean it seriously We need vr to get off the ground for ordinary consumers. But the resolution is to low imho in this implementation.

NVidia will be the only configuration initially, with AMD choices to follow. Nvidia and AMD have both been working closely with the engineers to optimize performance for their hardware.
