This deal starts this Sunday (8/18/2002):

SKU 368-121

$99.99
- $10 IR
- $20 off $75 coupon (search for "office depot" at heavy wallet, or search for "office depot coupon" on Google)
- $30 Maxtor MIR (Original UPC required)
- $30 OD MIR (Photocopy UPC allowed)
-----------------------------------------
= $9.99 AR

25 cents per GB! :Q

Edit:

1. If you need the $20 off $75 coupon, search for "office depot coupon" (without the quotes) on Google. The fifth link (247coupons or something like that) has the coupon you want.

2. Just a friendly advice, I would recommend either saving the two coupons onto your hard drive, or printing them out now. This is just in case one (or both) of them disappear, you won't need to hunt for them.

3. It's back in stock now for ordering online (as of Monday 8/19/2002, 5:15am PST). 3 day delivery.

People have been using this combo on the 40,60, and 80 gb versions. Basically it breaks the price down to $1 per gb.

Not too bad....LOL :D

Does anyone know if this is a "ata 66" drive. Just curious because someone over at
heavy wallet brought this up in a similiar post on this deal. ;)

read the fine print at the bottom

office depot does almost all of their rebates through express group

I'm not trying to thread crap...this is an awesome deal... just sharing my past experiences with these rebates.... 8-10 weeks turns into 6-8 months :|

This deal is so good it should be illegal. As far as the ATA66 question goes, I seriously doubt it. I've bought three Maxtor drives from OD in the last 8 mos and they have all been ATA133. Of course, I specified in-store pickup and would have rejected them if they weren't which is what I plan to do in this case.

How did you get this info? Just curious - is there a sneak preview sign-up at their site that I've missed?

Awesome deal - thanks for the heads up!!!

and here i was all disapointed about not being able to take advantage of the compusa HDD trade in deal - this is much better :D (assuming both rebates go through). I have had good luck in the past with both OD and Maxtor rebates, but im not sure if they were through the same company that these are...

What is the best way for me to buy 2 of these drives and still honor the rebates?

Both rebates say "limit 1 per household". I was thinking
of having them shipped to 2 different addresses, but I was
only going to use 1 credit card to buy both drives. Will using
1 credit card to buy both drives screw up my rebates?

Sorry for the newbie Q's, but I don't want to mess up on the rebates.....:(

It says it right on the printed rebate.

To recieve your $30.00 rebate you must
include the following:

1. This completed rebate coupon or a copy
2. The original Office Depot sales reciept
showing the item purchased (or photocopy)
dated 8/11/02 - 8/24/02
3. The original UPC or photocopy from the box

The deal is in this Sunday's flyer. So it starts on Sunday (8/18/2002) and is valid until Saturday (8/24/2002).

Besides, the Maxtor rebate requires the purchase date to be between 8/18/2002 and 8/24/2002. So even if you can get it today, you won't be eligible for the rebate anyways IMHO.

REALLY HOT!! Best deal I've seen so far! Even if the Express Group rebate doesnt come, $40 is still a good price! I'm gonna try to go for it... THANKS! My Maxtor 8.4 GB needs to be retired!

According to the site, it's ATA 100...

I bought the harddrive yesterday, 8/16......thinking I was getting a good deal after the $30 Office Depot rebate.
I want to get the other Maxtor $30 rebate, but it doesnt start until 8/18, and I already installed everything on the new drive.

Would this work?::

- Tomorrow I buy the HD just like anyone else.
- Remove the harddrive from the new package, and place it into the package I bought on 8/16
- Return the old package, and receive the rebates on the new package.

Will Office Depot know if the HD is different? Because I dont want to reinstall everything again.
