This is pretty normal. About 6 months ago when I signed up, I received the super dish, 3- 120GB DVRs for 4 rooms, Installation in 4 days, $50 credit on first bill. You lease the equip so it's under warrantee as long as you are paying them. Free HD upgrade is new though.

So did I, but I got my rebate a month later. Maybe you should call them up to find out why it is talking so long!

I did this, and they sent possibly the dumbest person ever out to install the dish, and the tech gave up because he didn't bring a long enough ladder and left. We ended up canceling before we even got service.

Ahaha! Man, thats funny. No long ladder and he leaves, comedy gold.

What is their policy if something goes wrong after 90days? You have to pay them to come to your house to fix stuff or is there some kind of "insurance" against this?

I called them about the "superdish" and they were like if you get a international channel now, the superdish is free, otherwise not. However, get this, they also said you can cancel it, then sign up again to get the superdish for free if you decide to have a international channel later on.

Well, they are very resonable, i would say.

We signed up for Dish Network last year, and got free installation, "free" equipment, and we can cancel anytime (no 1 year, etc... contract).

If something goes wrong you have to pay for them to repair or replace stuff. They do offer a insurance on all the equipment for like $6 a month. If you have the insurance and something happens your responsible for $29.99 of the bill.

We had problems with DirecTV is the main reason we got Dish instead, but its been great for almost a year.

i would rather just cancel it when stuff breaks and sign up again instead of paying $6/month. Or would that not work?

I dont see where it says what areas they are in?

From their faq:

Can SunDish.com offer DISH Network in my state? - Yes! We handle service and installation in all 50 states of the United States.

Where is my equipment coming from? - All equipment comes from DISH Network. Not SunDish.com. SunDish.com is here to process your order only.

Sun Dish

So basically they are a a middle-man. They just help sell dish, nothing else.

Few questions:
How much are the international channels? If I want Polish, how much? Also, just to double check, I can cancel any time and not worry about any charges? Also, what does the 50$ certificate do, can I apply it for my bill?
Thanks

Also,
It says on the top "No Cancellation Fees from Sun Dish" So will dish network charge me a cancellation fee?

Yeah, they're kinda not clear about that. I signed up and asked the same question to which they replied that in order to get the "superdish" they sign you up for a international package. But when the person comes to install, they call up dish people and the dish people talk to you and verify everything. At that time you should tell them that you only want one polish channel instead of the whole polish package (unless you want the whole thing). That way you will get the 'superdish'.

To check for the price look here:

http://www.dishnetwork.com/con...sp?languageType=Polish

All i wanted was the 'Geo' channel from the Urdu package and that is costing me $14.99/month. Yours is going to be different, probably cheaper. Call up dish/or sundish to ask exactly how much.

The $50 is a gift-certificate for shopping at selected stores:

http://sundish.com/rebate/giftjan2005.html

"$50 Gift Rebate SuperCertificate - Same as Cash and can be used at hundreds of popular retail and online stores. For Store listings Please click here

This is how we thank you for ordering DISH Network through us. The Gift Certificate is coming from SunDish.com and not from DISH Network. This Offer is valid for new customers only."

As for cancellation, i dunno what would be more clear than this:

"No Cancellation Fees - Our "Cancel Any Time" policy is probably the number one reason you should order from us. Sure the gift certificate is nice but, SunDish.com with the Digital Home Advantage Plan allows you to cancel your DISH service anytime without penalty from SunDish or DISH Network . We absolutely will not charge you a service cancellation fee. If you don't like DISH Network in your home, simply return the equipment. Remember, always read all the fine print and "Terms & Conditions" before making any online purchase from anyone."

Also, It says on the top "No Cancellation Fees from Sun Dish" So will dish network charge me a cancellation fee?

I see is this:

"...cancel your DISH service anytime without penalty from SunDish or DISH Network . We absolutely will not charge you a service cancellation fee."

Guys, lemme repeat, all they do is sell you the service and dish is responsible for everything else (installation, cancellation, whatever).

I don't know about this one folks, their price quote engine is not accurate. I personally have Dish Network and I'm quite familiar with what they charge. Here's what I selected from that site:

1 HDTV system
2 rooms with DVR
1 with standard receiver

They came out with a total price of $50.99 which is INCORRECT. Total price should be as follows:

America's Top 60 with locals: $29.99
DVR fee: $4.98 (this is if you get the two room DVR 522, if you get two separate DVRs it's $4.98 apiece)
HD programming package: $9.99 (REQUIRED if you get a HD receiver)
Additional receiver rental fee ($5.00 per receiver): $10.00 (charged for each box beyond the first. If this is setup with a 522, 811 & 301 then you have two additional boxes)
Total (not including applicable taxes): $54.96

The price of $50.99 is the checkout fee -- the $49.99 (refunded later) + $1 credit check fee. It doesn't actually tell you the monthly fee for the package you select. I guess you find that out later (??)

Oh -- price increases coming. On checkout page when ordering on the DISH network site, it tells you that:

Effective 2/1/05:
America's top 60 and Top 60 Plus will increase $2.00 per month.

America's top 120 and America's Top 180 will increase $3.00 per month.

America's "Everything Pak" will increase $4.00 per month.

That's for anyone on the DISH network, I guess.

Yeah, i just noticed that too. So, i sent them a email to ask why its happening.

It doesn't actually tell you the monthly fee for the package you select.

exactly, it doesn't show it on the checkout page, but its there when you are selecting it. Something is borked.

/edit: Well, it looks like your "real" total is when you hit the "Calculate Now" button at the top after selecting the options. That button seems to be working, although it doesn't add in the international package price which i explained in a above post as to why.

Yep, old news. Its still cheaper than cable though and yeah, everyone is effected. Cable TV is also increasing their prices as well in my area (Boston). :(

I have been scheduled to have the installer come at the house on the 18th of this month. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Allsat was cheaper for me:

4 room setup
1 DVR 3 standard rec.
America's Top 120 + HBO + Showtime
Full coverage for bad equipment for 1 yr.
No contract

$62/mo

Sundish for the same setup is $77/mo.
