Sunday Night Football: Patriots vs Colts

Actually, I thought New England played pretty well tonight. They were getting great pressure on Manning, forced some bad throws, guarded the run well...but they shot themselves in the foot with all of the pointless illegal contact. On offense, they looked pretty good...and 2 of Brady's interceptions were on tipped balls that happened to fly toward a Colt player...a little bit of a gift for Indianapolis, IMO.

One question though...why was a flag thrown for Harrison spiking the ball? I've seen players spike the ball all year after a touchdown without a penalty...so why this time?

Branch wanted a better QB throwing to him...Hasselbeck.

I love when Tom Brady throws 4 picks, especially to the Colts.

Not cuz I have anything against him, just to mock PaulNEIdiot.

However, my team blows and managed to lose to a far inferior team on a ridiculous final play, so that's all I'll say.

lol, that was the funniest ending to a game i have seen in a long time

He spiked it at the feet of my Vrabel so it bounced into his face. That is why.

The spike was a deserved penalty because it hit the Pats guy in the face, however, don't even try to say it was intentional. That's not Harrison, and you know it.

Except that he was jawing more than I've ever seen him in any other game. He could have easily spiked it in any other direction. He intentionally turned around to spike it, rather than spiking towards the out of bounds.

So spiking is okay unless the ball happens to bounce toward an opponent's face? How can you even control that?

He spiked the ball at Hobbs, because Hobbs was jawing with Harrison the entire first half.

Well, if you don't spike it in the direction if an opposing player, you don't run that risk. Pretty simple actually.

No, Branch wanted a BIG contract thrown at him and seattle did just that.
comparing hasselback to Brady, please that's a joke!! When you hit a
receiver on the *******'g hands he's supposed to catch it, not tip it in
the direction of a colt's defender! Hat's off to Manning though, he was
sacked and pressured most of the game and still got off some incredible
throws...

2002 - Hasslebeck finished 6th in passer rating, Brady finished 9th.
2003 - Hasselbeck finished 8th in passer rating, Brady finished 10th.

2004 - Hasselbeck finished 17th in passer rating, Brady finished 9th.
2005 - Hasselbeck finished 4th in passer rating, Brady finished 6th.

I'm pretty sure comparing the two is NOT a joke. BTW, Hasselbeck has been plagued with dropped passes and has never had the same consistent offensive line as Brady.

Edit: I wasn't serious about Branch wanting Hasselbeck throwing to him. I was only talking up my team 🙂

that speaks for itself..

So Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson were overall better QB's than Doug Flutie, Dan Marino, and Warren Moon?

GOD I HATE THAT DEFENSE

superbowl win != great QB, this coming from a fan of the team that's been to the most of them.

I hope you're serious, it will save me the trouble of reading your posts in the future.

So you're saying that Dilfer and Johnson will undoubtedly be in the hall of fame someday?

good call. and regardless of super bowls, a QB with a better passer rating would be the better guy if all you are looking for is a guy to get you the ball. whats the comparison between seattle and new england wide outs the last couple years? and i'm not being a smart ass, i have no idea, i am actually asking...

there's nothing terribly wrong with Brad Johnson. Sure he's no Marino or Montana, but he's very accurate and typically quick thinking and can execute well under pressure.

He played a wonderful season the year of the Raider pounding Super Bowl 37 and he's done very well at Minnesota in Culpepper's place, winning 7 of their last 9 games in 2005 after starting out 2-5 under Culpepper.

New England's recievers have done better the past 2 years.

And if Hasselbeck keeps playing like he has been and keeps getting the Seahawks into the playoffs for the next few years, he will likely be in the hall of fame someday too.

New England has consistently had a better defense, offensive line, and special teams than Seattle. It isn't just because "Brady" is there. Put Brady at QB at San Francisco and see how many games he wins...

I like hasselbeck, in fact he came from the Pat's via a trade if i remember.
at least we agree on one thing, it sucks when the QB makes the correct read
delivers the ball on target and it gets dropped, I hate it!!
