First day of the week. Anyone who says different is probably one of those people who believe there are 5 oceans and only 8 planets.

Jews and Jehovah's witnesses have Saturday as the Sabbath which makes Sunday the first day. What religion do the calendar makers belong to?

I think of it more as the last day of the week while Monday is a whole new week and back to the grind (at least for those who work 9*5). Come to think of it, why is it considered the first anyway? It represents the day God rested after creating everything, so it should be the official end of the week. The first day on Earth would have been a Monday. Well, guess technically it would have been Sunday because everything was done and fully operational. Hmm.

Only reason I consider it the first day is because most calendars are laid out with Sunday at the beginning. Heil, Jesus!

It feels like the end because nothing exciting usually happens. That's because of how work and business is structured though.

All calendars here in Sweden show Sunday as the last day of the week so that's what it is.

Mentally, Sunday is the last day of the week. And that's how the Bible explains it, so it has to be right!

But according to the federal government, my pay period starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday two weeks later. I don't understand that one.

Here's something I never understood: People talk about this weekend versus next weekend. But this weekend IS the "next" weekend. :hmm:

Think about it.
Left to right. The line has a beginning and an end.
The left side isn't the end. It's the beginning.

Time always moves forward and in science, time moves from left to right.

I have never seen a graph with time moving right to left.

Think "book ends."

Plot it, step back, and take a look: Every line has two ends.

No, Saturday was always considered the 7th day, Sabbath was moved to Sunday by Christians because Jesus rose on a Sunday. Jews, and quite a few Christian sects, still use Saturday as the Sabbath.
