I am glad the OP posted this! It's comforting to know that because the Sun is the dimmest it has been in a hundred years, that makes all the greenhouse gases freeze up and go away! /phew
".... But researchers are on guard against their concerns about a new cold snap being misinterpreted."
"Even if the current solar lull is the beginning of a prolonged quiet, the scientists say, the star's effects on climate will pale in contrast with the influence of human-made greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2)." ~
"I think you have to bear in mind that the CO2 is a good 50 to 60 percent higher than normal, whereas the decline in solar output is a few hundredths of one percent down," Lockwood said. "I think that helps keep it in perspective."
You don't fucking say. Hmm, I didn't even need to click the link and read it to know that the Sun != CO2
Keep it in perspective indeed, some posting here make far better windows than they do doors
Also CO2 != heat nor does any multiplied factor of it,....
A heat source is needed for "global warming"
By the way,.. what is "normal" for CO2???,... which was quoted as 50-60% higher,... CO2 has been many times higher in our past than right now
The percentages cannot be compared like they want,... 50-60 of one thing cannot be compared to being greater than a few hundredths of a percent, until there is a relationship of some kind established,.. such as a 1 percent change in solar output by the sun is the same as a 20 percent change in greenhouse gases or something along those lines,... I am fairly sure it is not a 1:1 ratio like the one person's quote wants to lead you to believe,...
so yes we should keep ALL things in perspective,...
