Demand is going up because it is free and a breeze to configure.

The only way Sun will make money is if they charge for support. If they charge for the product people would move on to something else that is free.

A breeze to configure? To get running OOB yes. To tune for high performance? That can be annoying sometimes.

I thought that Sun was still in business because of their servers, not their software solutions

Darn, that's why I haven't picked up any volatility in SUNW lately, I used to trade it a lot. :frown:

Anyhow, because a stock is down 20% overnight certainly doesn't automatically make it a good deal.

Yeah I used to trade SUNW too. One of the former four horsemen. I remember when the stock was $100/shr. It's one of the few stocks I got out in time during the dotcom boom/bust.

Why this company haven't sold all its assets and distribute the proceeds to the shareholders is a mystery. The company as is is just paycheck machine for the management goons.

Did they have a reverse split? I may be confused but thought it was a $5 stock or something.

Yeah, they did 1 for 4 reverse split and changed their symbol to JAVA from SUNW. Losers. Focusing on cosmetic instead of focusing on the business and profit.

I figured it would be to much to assume they got their sh!t together...that's like a $3.15 stock price of old, lol.

I have no idea what exactly they do and how they earn their money, just like most companies in the tech sector.
The only thing I know about MySQL is the error I got once in a while when browsing some websites. I haven't seen that error in at least 3-5 years.

I'll stick to companies I know very well in tech.
HPQ that is.
