SUGGESTION: put general keywords in your HD threads for better searching

using search on the hot deals threads is usually pointless because they usually they just have the product name in them.

please include general keywords like cpu, monitor, speakers, etc in your threads so that they will show up when people search for a particular type of item. putting them in the body is fine for subscribers, but remember that some people cannot do full text search, so it would be a good idea to put keywords in the title if possible.

I hope that people will remember to do this, and maybe MODS could make this thread sticky so that everybody gets the message.

Suggestion- Post Hot Deals on the Hot Deals Forum. If you post them they will find them. Maybe you could post this in Brag & Moan because I think it comes under moaning about people not posting exactly like you want them to. I would have a hard time finding this thread by using the search feature. It might come up if was searching for hard drives using the HD abbreviation.

I think it's a pretty good idea.

At least it's more useful than "Hotter than a supernova!" or " Hotter than Brittany Spears breasts!" or some of the other equally dumb cr@p people put in thier titles.

(I should point out that I am actually very fond of Brittany's breasts. )

appreciate your taking this seriously unlike the others, ex "I wouldn't be able to find this thread with the search feature" - this thread isn't a hot deal obviously. it's a suggestion for making the hot deals forum a lot more useful for everybody.

99% of the threads posted here have a relevant keyword in the subject line, but of course this one doesn't, and it's not a Hot Deal either. Mods please lock, this is just a stupid thread.

it's simply using common sense...say a person wanted a hard drive, they could search for "hard drive," "Maxtor," "Western Digital," "WD," or "Seagate." In most cases, one word or another is already in there.
