Never was one for French films, always preferred Germanic or Slavic ones. Maybe because I can understand them better. Guess that's kinda strange with french being one of the official languages here. Or maybe french plots are just too... french for me.

What about french horror films ? Don't worry you won't be left without feeling psychically ill.

"The Lives of Others" is a great movie.

I also recently saw "Summer in Berlin" and enjoyed that too.

Retardedly effing good flick.

Amelie is also great. I get a chub just thinking about how good it is :)

I like a lot of foreign stuff--Fellini is my all-time favorite auteur. And I think Amelie is fantastic.

I can't seem to find this movie at blockbuster.com, so I probably won't be watching it.

And yes, I enjoyed Amelie immensely.

I also agree with an above poster that Science of Sleep was trash. Not sure why it got so many film festival selections...

Yeah, Science of Sleep = garbage. I think it was film that Gondry directed after Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and just goes to show what happens when he thinks he should work with his own material.

Let's hope he lost some potential funding because of that one :D

I thought Amelie was a wonderful flick, and I really wanted to get into the SoS, but I never really understood it and stopped watching. ESOTSM is one of my favorite flicks ever, though.

The Lives of Others was also very good. Makes you realize how much really went on in the past that we have no idea about.

One of my favorite movies. I can't wait until the BR of it comes out. The colors will be amazing.
