You have to get them into the "the internet is for porn" stage of computer understanding!

I wasn't aware that Viva Pinata had a PC version, but since people above say there is, I would recommend it (if it's similar to the 360 version). That would pretty much be a perfect game for a 13 year old girl (or really anyone... hell my mom and dad were playing it last time I was home for break).

My 10 year old daughter loves any horse-related games, so anything from the "Let's Ride" series is a big hit. There a bunch of them. Lucinda Green's Equestrian Challenge also.

Also any Nancy Drew series game! Fun adventure mysteries.

The problem with Viva Pinata is... she already has it for 360 (my brother has a 360).

My parents are strongly anti-porn (nothing religious, they just find it incredibly boring and don't want their kids exposed to it while we're underage). Don't think that'll happen.

They did find the Avenue Q song funny, though.

Plasma Pong can be pretty fun.

Also, Totalgaming.net has a bunch of non-violent games; but a lot of them have a very geeky undertones - like their election simulation game. They have all the regular simple addiciting type games there as well, and that seems to be what you are looking for.

Maniac Mansion is available for free now, although it is obviously pretty outdated.

Myst is completely nonviolent, but i always found it boring, so I can't imagine what a teenage girl would think of it.

My daughter plays with Webkinz, but other than that I can't think of much that hasn't been said already.

They just find it incredibly boring, eh? They just aren't looking at the right porn. The right porn is porn that makes you think, "Is that even possible?"

Ah crap, I forgot there was a new one a couple days ago.

Gotta take Kitty to Southparkstudios tonight, I guess. Good way to try out the new monitor, I suppose >_>

Bioshock would be a perfect fit for her.

Ok, maybe puzzlequest or the sims would be better :p

Another vote for Sims 2 ... her PC will run it like a champ, no internet access required (you should provide the patch for her) & theres tons of add-on content to keep her from getting bored ... my 14 y/o daughter love it & plays all the time.

Good suggestion. Pyschonauts is pretty dang good, and I hate that sort of game usually. Just found a copy again cheap and snagged it myself. 'Where are the squirrels?'

Damn, I actually have a copy of Psychonauts sitting around that I haven't even opened yet. I wish Big Lots! had more copies when I had picked that up, I could have gotten a second one for her.

Maybe she'll enjoy Cave Story.
It's similar to the Metroid and Castlevania games, and as an added bonus, it's available for damn near everything (Windows, Mac, Linux, Xbox, etc.)

My sister occasionally played games on my comp, she enjoyed Portal, TF2, Guild Wars, StepMania and on her own machine, she played The Sims and Runescape.

Now that I moved out and there is no longer a high end machine in the house, she plays a few games on GameCube, but never by herself. She likes Mario Kart and Kirby Air Ride.

She is 17 though... so this probably didn't help.

Snag the PopCap pack off of steam. She'll dig:

Bejeweled
Bookworm adventures
Peggle (teh bomb!)

She might like Portal.
The SIMs is a huge one too.
Since it's free try out www.kartrider.com
Viva Pinata

Is she too young for Fable or Bard's Tale? Both of these were ported console games, action-adventure-rpg.

If she already likes Pokemon, times to step her up to the next level of RPG-like games.

Psychonauts is going to be way too friggin' hard for her, especially if she thinks Monkey Ball is too hard.

Aren't those games rated M?
