Could you guys let me know if the 940b's Box, does it have any of those plastic handles to carry it with. I have to carry it quite a ways, so this would help.
Thanks
Thanks
Yes, the box has a plastic handle. It's easy to carry the box.Originally posted by: thatsright

Maybe you are suffering from "LCD Syndrome": LCD Display Discomfort
I began using LCDs two years ago (the first one is NEC LCD1760V, then Samsung 940B). I am sitting in front of LCD 12/7. I was very comfortable from the beginnig at the default 60Hz refresh rate. No eyestrain or headache. But I changed the Windows font size. In 17" LCD, Windows font size was 150% = 144dpi. In 19" LCD, it is 133% = 128dpi. In FireFox, the minimum font size is set to 17. Font size lower than this causes eyestrain (my eyes are a litte weak). I need the best comforting environment because of long work per day. I have no problem in watching WMP.Originally posted by: thatsright
when you got your 940b did you have the same problems 'getting use to' your new LCD? Is it still a problem for you? Did you ever have the same problem watching movies in WMP?
I have bought more than 150 items since 1999 from Buy.com. It is a first-rate seller. Their basic policy is "customer is always right", like Amazon.com. If you don't like a product, you can return it without restocking fee. If you feel it is defective (including incompatibility), click the "defective" button and a free UPS return shipping label appears instantly. (Don't misuse it!) My recent purchases are a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (returned as defective), two ABIT AX8, two ABIT AN8 Ultra (both returned as defective), two MSI K8NGM2-FID, three Leadtek TV tuners, two Antec NeoHE 430, and two Samsung 940B. All of them were delivered free in two days from their PA or NJ warehouse to my place in NJ. No problems at all. NewEgg's dead pixel policy is a joke when compared to Buy.com.Originally posted by: Azndude51
though I'm a bit worried because the site gets poor ratings.

There IS a difference, big one. Go to newegg.com and look at the new egg logo on the banner. See how the orange to yellow is not smooth and even transition. Large gradient transition from orange to yellow. I see this on the Samsung 940b 6 Bit panel.

That's because that logo is a dithered GIF image. Nothing to do with the monitor. 6 bits wouldn't look that bad. I can see the ugly transition on my 8 bit as well. Infact, a 6 bit usually does frame rate control (flickering) to imitate the image, so there'd be no image artifacts.

The best 19" 8-bit panels are the Samsung 970P and ViewSonic VP930b. You're looking at $450 as a starting point unless you want to buy one used. But do a check on Price Watch to see if you can find one of these any cheaper.
