LOL you guys are still trying to figure out the probability? I don't think that the OP's real concern is this. OP, stop saying "smart" things to women. If you to draw them near you, tease them from time to time then flirt with other women in front of them.

I would nominate the following gem, uttered by a coworker at Subway many years ago. Our store had a TCBY in it; and she was in the process of putting on those stylish plastic gloves prior to making a banana split for the customer. She turns to the customer (who was an attractive male, about her age) and says, "Excuse me, I need to put on these gloves before I handle your banana!"

No, I have one that tops that story. A number of years ago I worked for a car rental company as a branch manager and some woman from our corporate office called me one morning asking where my district manager was. I told her that he wasn't here and that I didn't know where he was. She got a bit frustrated by this and said, "what do you mean you don't know where he is? What if your office was on fire, what would you do?" And I came back immediately with, "I'd call the fire department." Shut her right up. That had to be one of the dumbest things someone has ever said to me.

anyone know the real odds ?

This is one of the things you learn in a probablities class.

Usually you start by asking the first person their birthday and whoever has the same raises their hand.

You usually get about 10-20 deep before a match.

I told this girl that she has the same birthday as me... and I told her, "I heard the odds of that happening is like 1 in 300"

if you heard this from someone, would you think he was an idiot? haha

I actually I laughed when I read that. If I actually heard that casually in conversation, I probably wouldnt think much of it. BUt now that you mention it, it sounds funny.

You should have pulled out your ti-83 and calculated a p-value for her.

should have pulled out your P and calculated her.

The probability is 1/365 that two random people have the same birthday in a year (constraint: define a year as 365 equally probabilistic days of birth).

What you are hinting at is the probability that in a room of people, at least two have the same birthday,
