Arkaoss:

I use @home but i use DHCP. The host name you use for freesco is your @home id. Then you can name the router whatever you want. As for which card is eth0, i just guessed and waited to see if the dhcpoffer returned my ip addr.

On another note, i tested icq. I can send files, but not receive them. On the freesco forum i found info on fixing that using port forwarding and a packet scanner.

So far my router has been running non-stop since thursday with no problems yet. I did install mine on a hard drive though.

any one ever expiriment running freesco behind winproxy? or vise versa. i don't want to have to reconfig all the clients in the house to have such a power full access capabilities... ill hafta find out how to forward specific ports and stuff, i think i know what i did wrong in configing the freesco box, but I'll be on later tonight (tues) give me a time, and i should be able to be here...

Elledan, try this:

If you see Freesco display the status message Waiting for DHCPOFFER on eth0--do this. When FreeSCO hangs there, then you hooked the wrong network card to your modem. All you need to do is switch the ethernet cable to the other network card. Once you find out which card is going to your modem and you have it properly connected then connect the second network card to your hub.
Reboot your router box and this time it should obtain an IP address from your ISP.
