A) I want to punch the people in that picture. Hard.
2) Who cares about the method in which Subway puts cheese on a sandwich? Like, one way or another? How is this news?

How many millions is this gonna cost Subway to retrain their employees?

nothing here, every subway ive been in already does it. now if we can get them to put a few more slices of meat and a pound less of lettuce per sammich, theres a news story

you watch them make the sandwich! they make it the way you tell them to! you could ask for a sandwich with all the cheese in a stack and mayo on one side and nothing but meatballs and peppercinis on the other. they just have to use the standard amount of materials.

if i recall correctly, you can still get them to cut it old-school subway style (cut the chunk of bread out of the top) instead of in-half if you tell them to.

Blasphemer!

Subs are great. Not as good as Quiznos on average but still I eat there all the time!

Everything tastes exactly the same. I could eat a dozen subs from there, blindfolded, and not be able to tell you what was in any of them. :D

They have a lot of overlap and subs that DO taste similar. However their pizza, chicken breast, cold cut trio, subway melt and meatball subs are distinguishable enough for me. It's also one of the few if only fast food places that is at all healthy. I've been eating 6" veggie subs there for a long time now. And those really are rather bland :( The rest just have too many calories to make a semi regular meal of.

Nobel prize time!!!

If they would just cut the cheese into rectangles instead of triangles, this wouldn't be a problem in the first place. No re-training of their workers would be needed either.

^^^^ Now, THAT'S a Nobel Prize worthy solution.

If you expect gourmet sandwiches where proper usage of tessellation (lol) might make a difference, why the hell are you going to Subway in the first place?

Doesn't make much sense to me. As long as the ingredients are relatively fresh and the sandwich tastes okay for the price, I'm happy.

Now I'm hungry for a chicken teriyaki sub :(
