I dunno about them. First they charge close to $7 for lunch, then they hire people sometimes who dont know how to handle fresh food.

The other day I dropped by for a footlong, drink and some chips (mate), and they guy behind the counter was sneezing and wheezing and everything else. He was turning his head but when it was my turn to order I decided at the last minute not to.

Im sorry, but fresh food and a guy with a cold do not bode well for me. :whiste:

Immune system ftw!!

Pro tip... Buy a $5 footlong, drink water at home/office, and omit the chips, or buy them from 7-11. It's healthier, and ~$1 cheaper.

Ya, that franchise has gone downhill over the years. Not that it was amazing to begin with, but I really don't feel great eating there anymore. Maybe its just the one by my work, but I wouldn't chose to try it somewhere else either, its probably all the same.

Agreed. Went to a Subway a couple weeks ago and it was by far the worst Subway sandwich I've ever had. I'm not sure how you can manage to screw up bread, cheese, veggies, and meat, but they did it. They should have gotten a fucking award for it...

There are THREE Subways in my downtown area, only one of them is superb (lightning fast staff, hot food, etc.), the other two are questionable at best. No idea how they are still open. Somehow they are passing their health inspections.

This. $5 footlong, nothing else. Get Cookies if you want something other than a sandwich. I love subway cookies!!!!!!!!!!!

I like all the Subways I've been to. It's a substandard sub when weighed against a real sub shop, but I'm pleased with the quality when it's taken on its own, and considering the price.

Oh look, another post where you complain about it. If you havent noticed Ive ignored your antogonizing posts up until now. I dont want to put you on ignore because I consider you a member of substance with quality posts, but for some reason you have a "thing" for me. Can't we all just get along?

Ouch!

OP, I avoid "fast food" at all costs unless I am on a business trip unless the only alternative is starving. Two months ago I was in SoCal and stopped by a Subway in Ontario. It had been a while since I had been in a Subway and was surprised to find that they had posted caloric information on their subs in plain sight on the menu board. Most subs (foot long) on the board had well over 1,000 calories each! Luckily, their Black Forst sub had "only" about 650 calories ... so I ordered that.

Why does my mouth feel so dry after I eat a Subway sub? They must be extremely high in sodium I guess.

My biggest beef is the price. The other is the potential for illness.

Personally, I'd avoid the chips if I were you. A bag of chips can have over 100 calories... unless you get the diarrhea-inducing Olevia-based chips. Although, if you're going that far... bread and cheese both have an ass-ton of calories too. That footlong is probably 300-400 calories just in bread alone.

Im sorry, but fresh food and a guy with a cold do not bode well for me. :whiste:

Back when I worked at McDonald's in my teens, one big point that was drilled in was to not come into work if you were sick. Although, I wouldn't worry so much about a little cold. There are plenty of germs in the air as it is.

this.

also it's 5 friggen bucks for the standard footlong, and you get more volume than your other average fast food chains. $5 at mcd's or wendy's, arby's, bk is just a puny burger where it's not enough and still feel hungry.

imo, the only sandwich to get there is the footlong meatball marinara. it has the highest meat to dollar ratio.

$5 in wendy's double-stacks is ridiculously filling. that's 10 patties. same with $5 in mcdoubles.

If you're eating footlongs then you're eating too much. I don't go in much but when I do it's the 6" sub of the day ($2.99), no chips, and water.

You complain about paying $7 for lunch yet you buy enough food for two people.

All you do is complain. You complain about people. You complain about food. You complain about everything. Compounding this is your self-professed LOVE OF JESUS®. You constantly remind us that you are a Christian, yet your posts are anything but. You are intolerant and incredibly judgemental of pretty much everything and everyone around you, and frankly I'm sick of hearing about it.

I'd have put you on ignore a long time ago, but the "ignore" function here is basically useless. I'd still see your daily whining threads and nary a thread where you actually do anything to improve your lot in life. I'm sorry you have health issues, and I'm glad you like bikes, but you can keep the rest of it to yourself.

This.

Rarely had problems at Subway. And if they royally fuck up, they'll make you a new one.

I can't east at Subways anymore after finding a fingernail in my sandwich.

Not kidding.
