There's no end-game. I got the game late and I've been playing the latest Jan. build (pretty much final). It's way too easy, food, water and power are all irrelevant after a couple hours, and it's also way too easy. I lost interest too, but not before spending many hours on it. It's quite good for something so bad. I've seen videos on how it was before, and the added level of polish is also very significant and noteworthy. Can't be overstated. Also had no performance issues (read lots of complaints), with "mid-range" 1070. Can't recommend any more highly (except maybe were it challenging in any way at all).

Game is officially released.

The live Twitch launch was a damn mess, it started very let and kept dropping out.
All the final patch does is enable the end game sequence which was actually added in one of the many recent large updates. They are already talking about adding new content in the form of an arctic area in later versions.

No thats later, if at all.

All you get now is unlocking of stuff that was already there, like the endgame.

Which by the way, I completed early this morning and it was pretty damn cool. I bet theres already Youtube vids of it.

Yeah i realize it will be DLC if it even makes it that far. Will be interesting to see how well supported over time the game is now that its launched.

The game is selling really well, it is in the Steam top 100 sellers, and has a 91/100 on metacritic. So, a paid DLC is well worth spending some time supporting the game.

I have owned this game a long time. Played it a bunch a long time ago. Has anyone tried it in VR? I know they added support quite a bit back but I have never tried it.

I am in love with this game. I'm unable to put it down. Its the only thing I want to play.
I seriously didn't think there would be anything deeper than the jellyshroom cave and assumed it would be end game. Hence prepped myself to increase my seamoth depth to 300m.
The pure sense of dread realising that there are things below 1000m is a feeling I want to experience again. And I tell you, when I accidentally stumbled across the lost river, I cried a little with happiness. I've always been fascinated with the ocean bit always been afraid to scuba cos I don't know how to swim. Probably the reason why I'm enjoying this game so much. Kudos to the developers, cos that's a mighty fine survival game. Probably the best out there.

The world is 2km by 2km by 2km. Effectively 8 cubic kilometers and its FULL of stuff. The hard part is deciding when to leave behind your Seamoth and start exploring with air tanks. If you arent careful its easy to get lost in a maze of caves and die without O2.

The PRAWN can go much deeper than the Seamoth, but its also MUCH slower for getting around. Using the Cyclops to transport it helps a lot. But eventually you will probably end up making undersea bases at various points, in order to facilitate battery recharging and air refilling.

That's great. Post it in a review. I like your description. Also check out the Planet Earth 1 and 2 documentary ocean sections... and other BBC ocean documentaries.

Yeah ive got over 10 hours into it since it went final(played 70 hours of beta previous). Its really fun for sure. Nothing is more scary than being out in just your wetsuit few hundred meters away from your seamoth gathering resources and then you turn around and bam 5 meters in front of you is a leviathan directly between you and your seamoth.

I heard a lot about this game, but only started to check some quick streams of it a few days ago; it seems interesting.

Is the game world procedural or all crafted by hand? For now I put it on my wishlist, I'll wait for a mail notice whenever it goes on sale.

All crafted.

Just go into it without learning too much about it.

I recently picked this up on a whim and gave it a go. I'm not super into it but I do like the development team and, although NS2 isn't anywhere near as popular as I wanted it to be, their games are typically great. Last thing I did was craft the little sea glider thing and tried to find some sulfur, which I could not for whatever reason. I played maybe 40 minutes and then kind of put it aside.

I'll play it again but it didn't really grab my attention right off the bat. Doesn't mean I wont like it, though; the urge to traverse deeper into the depths is very prevalent and intimidating at the same time.

The sulfer is found inside the caves and big coral tunnes in the safe shallows, in the eggs/bulbs of those exploding seeker fish after they hatch and try and kill youi, looks like this.

ugh, figures. after being ambushed by a few of those stupid things I stayed pretty far away from them.

gonna see if I can spend a little more time with it before i leave for vacation next week. it does appeal to me, just didn't really suck me in--tbh though I didn't play enough of it yet.

The trick to them is that they have a very poor turn radius.
