I found this case particularly interesting. It was about a serial killer who targeted black women. He would beat them, tell them he was going to kill them, rape them and then kill them. He said enjoyed telling them he was going to kill them because they then would beg for their lives. He was extremely successful with 5 known kills and 2 failed kills. There are possibly more but those are known for sure.
He was convicted and given the death penalty. On appeal the sentence was commuted to life because the judge ruled the serial killer too stupid to execute. I found this interesting in that the killer was smart enough to get away with multiple murders. He seemed very clever in the way he went about his crimes.
I am anti-death penalty overall and cases like this are a reason why. If people are not going to be treated equally under the law, if some people are able to get off for reasons that do not mitigate guilt, then the death penalty is a fundamentally flawed concept. That and I do not want my government killing citizens.

Twenty years after Joseph Miller was charged with murdering three women in Dauphin County — he later confessed to a fourth murder — he has been charged with yet another killing.
Miller, 51, Tuesday was charged in the death of a woman whose remains were found in 1997 along Chambers Hill Road in Swatara Township. The woman's body was found about a mile away from where the bodies of three of hits other victims were found.
District Attorney Ed Marsico described Miller as "the most prolific killer in Dauphin County history."
