Are you going to tell me with a straight face that you wouldn't want your PC powered by Atomic Juice?

I think enthusiast components just tend to have over-the-top names in general:

* Xion Supernova - Really not a confidence-inspiring name for a PSU.

* ASUS Maximus Formula - This one wouldn't be so bad...if not for the fact that one part of the name evokes Roman gladiators...and the other part evokes race cars.

* Raidmax Smilodon Extreme - I'm really not seeing the resemblance to a smilodon here...

* Spire Pininfarina - I'll get back to you guys on this one when I figure out what a "pininfarina" is.

* Intel Bonetrail/Skulltrail - Ooo, scary.
* OCZ Reaper - Ooo, even scarier...
* Razer Deathadder - Run away! Run away!

* Scythe Andy Samurai Master - ...

* XFX Alpha Dog XXX Edition 8800 GT - As a chix0r, I'd think I might have a hard time coming to grips with owning something with such an...awkward?...name. Same thing with the Antec "Super Lanboy". For once, can we have something called the "Matriarch", or "Black Widow", or something like that? Please?

* Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion (or pretty much anything with "Fatal1ty" in it) - Hey, I've got nothing against Wendel himself. Props to him for being so successful. But the whole branding thing is really tacky, to say the least.

Pininfarina is an Italian design house that has penned a lot of Ferrari designs (ie. exterior styling) and other rare cars. I think Pininfarina were actually involved in the design of that case...although it isn't particularly appealing to me.

Smilodon and Alpha Dog I can't stop laughing about. I mean comeon Smilodon almost has the word smile in it...how scary is that??!!! Actually Alpha Dog is growing a bit on me. I thought it was ridiculous when it first came out but as long as only one of their cards are named that I think it's okay.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Amber you seriously crack me up...

I think there used to be something called matriarch. And black widdow used to be name of a heat sink a while back ago. Since not a lot of people know about it, i guess thats why the names arent used.

Shiet.. my computer if it was a person would be female, and she wouldnt be anything less then a matriarch. Of course she'll probably be more stuck up then paris hilton.

Ugh, I just Googled up a picture of that Spire case -- doesn't really appeal to me either. I'm not a real big fan of the whole art deco/new age (or whatever you call it) style, at least not for computer components.

Kind of reminds me of the Microsoft S+arck mouse.

The Smilodon has a second name: Dirktooth - so it's a big, toothy grin that awaits its lunch...

The company that actually mfrs the Spire Pininfarina (or spire themselves) couldn't afford a full-case design from Pininfarina. So they just got a swoopy aluminum front and top for the same chassis that's under the Smilodon. For any who appreciate the Smilodon chassis, but can't deal with the rice...

This thread made me laugh and snort my coffee out of my nose at work!

Good times.

I want a version of this PSU called the Pimp Juice, they gotta make it purple with some usb powered dice that I mount outside the case.

I found that Newegg does carry the Spire Pininfarina but the word "Pininfarina" is not present in the descriptions, so you have to use the product locator, choose "computer cases" then choose 'Spire' from the Mfr. list. - they are there and at the current best price per Froogle with Free Shipping! on top of it (deals only on the silver version), making it an even better deal if the case appeals to you.

Wonderful, just when I thought those names couldn't get any more ridiculous. Seriously...Dirktooth?! I actually had to Google that one up to make sure you weren't making it up.

Coming to an eTailer soon -- the Raidmax Smilodon Dirktooth Snaggletooth Bucktooth Beaver-Edition Fatal1ty Xtreme Pro GTO Ultra-Clocked Ninjastar Golden-Sample Demolisher Titanium...etc, etc, etc

:confused:
