Stupid Shoulder

Figure I should give a bit of an update. Got the PT bill yesterday which reminded me of this. It's fairly ridiculous that they can charge $3000 ($135 insured) for what amounts to watching me lift for 6 hours.

Ended up doing 8 sessions of PT. I would say it eased some of the shoulder pain from normal activities, such as sleeping and driving. As far as lifting goes, it continued to both be painful and hold me back for about 4 weeks. However, now I feel like I'm pretty much at 95% in both pain and lifting capacity. Who knows if it was the PT or just time. Hopefully I'll get to a point where I totally forget about it!

Wait, so how much did you actually pay out of the $3k? Sounds like your insurance sucks, man. :/

Just $135. Wouldn't have gone otherwise 😛 I just enjoy bitching about the sticker price.

They overcharge because insurance won't pay crap - it's that way for all healthcare professions. Honestly, for $135, you got a lot. Shoulder problems almost never fix themselves, typically because there are things you can't do by yourself (join mobilizations, capsule stretches, neuromuscular re-training). Take it slow and always, always try to stop before the pain comes on. Glad it feels better though, man.
