A quick study of my office agrees with that. It's not the men that have three different bags of chips, a tub of pretzels, half a cake, and a 3 pound bag of M&M's at their desk.

Hey, hey shut up there!

I'm the only one in my section with 2 bottles of pop, a a bag of gummy bears and a box or two of chocolates visible. And it's mainly the men who raid the vending machine behind me😉.

I was going to make an "*" at the end of my statement. The only men I know who have piles of food in their cube are guys like myself and my coworker that are very active and have the metabolism of rabid ground squirrels and are eating something all day long. I could probably count on one hand the number of men & women in my office that fit that description.

From my observations of women, I have to agree. Many of them I know get very irritable and sometimes downright angry when they don't eat.

I get shaky if I don't eat something every few hours... which DOES lead to cranky!

To me I think it makes perfect sense.

It's all about genetic differences and reasoning behind such behavior in history.

Men could find food when necessary, so naturally don't feel the need to stuff face whenever the opportunity is provided.
Women, however, have two things working against them: women would have food provided to them, and were weaker naturally than the men and couldn't scavenge as successfully. But more importantly, child-rearing. When a woman has a fuller figure, she has a better chance to have a healthy child.

Regardless of what life today requires or does not require, we have not evolved. Our genetics, our instincts, are all from our ancient beginnings.

And this happens to most girls I know. I don't know if the shakiness is physical (blood sugar/insulin issues), or more mental (psychological reaction to hunger).

You speak the truth... for me anyway.

I try to eat something every few hours and that leads to happiness for me!

I've suspected this for years. I can go 12+ hours without eating and not feel any adverse effects. My gf though, there's no way she could go more than a few hours without eating something.

....
?

you clearly aren't serious.
What else do you think it is?
Humans are animals. Simple as that. We are more primal in a day to day setting than most realize apparently. We are driven by instincts, primal urges. How one blinds oneself to NOT seeing that has always amazed me, yet it seems most of society does.
I blame religion, it breeds people to think we are special. We are actually pretty dumb, but we have our ability to use education to thank as we have learned the successes and failures of thousands of generations before us.
