They performed brain scans on 13 women and 10 men, who had fasted overnight, to determine how their brains responded to the sight of their favorite foods. They report their findings in Tuesday's edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"There is something going on in the female," Wang said in a telephone interview, "the signal is so much different."

I don't know if it's the cause for obesity, but judging by how often the females I know get hungry, I would say that there's some truth.

If you eat properly and exercise, you can eat very often (6x / day is not a bad thing, and IIRC is better for you than eating 2-3 big meals). :)

That's why when you get married the vows say to feed her even if you're hungry. Since she's hungrier.

A quick study of my office agrees with that. It's not the men that have three different bags of chips, a tub of pretzels, half a cake, and a 3 pound bag of M&M's at their desk.

I dunno, the only way I avoid eating tons of shit that horrible for me is if I never buy it. I still look for it in the cupboards though, even though I know its not there.

Hey, hey shut up there!

I'm the only one in my section with 2 bottles of pop, a a bag of gummy bears and a box or two of chocolates visible. And it's mainly the men who raid the vending machine behind me;).
