there was another study that said circumcision lowered risk for HIV by a significant amount as well.

it seems fairly clear that circumcision lowers the risk of disease transmission ACROSS THE BOARD. i don't know what your issue is regarding understanding this.

Really, just wash up after sex and the risk would be the same as uncircumcised. I'm not cut so I focus on hygiene, no problems.

circumcision will lower risk for HIV and herpes risk, yes. However, if you are participating in unprotected sex, circumcision isn't going to protect you. You are going to get infected. You might get away with it once or twice.

So lets see here, cut some skin off OR use a fucking condom. Lets see, condoms are pretty reliable. The other choice isn't. But if you want to cut off a body part off your child, that is your choice. I choose to educate my child in safe sex. Hope he is smart and uses a condom. All the while getting him vaccinated against whatever I can.

That was his point. Just because one study says something is true, doesn't mean it is. Not to say that this doesn't have its merit, only that one should err on the side of caution when it comes to MY GENITALS!

Not being conceived cuts your risk of dying
Not driving / riding in a vehicle cuts your risk of not being in a wreck
Not flying cuts your risk of being in a plane crash.
Removing the brain cuts brain cancer by 100%

Circumcision is nothing more then a social agenda. Would you like to know "why" circumcision is as popular as it is in the USA? Its partially due to the christian right and their odd ball viewpoints on masturbation.

Genital mutilation (that is what circumcision is) should be outlawed until the child reaches the age to make the decision for themselves.

Female genital mutilation has been outlawed in most english speaking nations. But for some reason its "ok" to cut the genitals of a male child? There are no double standards. Its not right to treat one child one way, and then turn around and treat another child another way based solely on their sex.

Yeah I've always thought it strange how female circumcision is considered mutilation and almost universally condemned, yet male circumcision is still A-OK among many cultures.
