You say they chose Jesus because it has a bigger symbolism but its very likely they chose Jesus because many of the professors dont like Christianity. They wouldn't do this to Muhammed because they know they would get fired and face death threats.

He said hes a Christian and I read that but it still doesn't excuse what he did. Why did he not do this to other religions? Its because he is scared of them.

-It was a cultural studies class.
-Students were not required to stomp on paper, but merely asked to see how they felt about it.
-Student threatened the teacher (in fine Christian fashion) and was suspended for that.

The false persecution complex that pops up from Christians just cracks me up. They are actively working to keep a minority group of Americans from having equal rights, and when you tell them to stop they think THEY'RE the ones being persecuted. Or in this case, student told to do something as part of an exercise, refuses and threatens the instructor and all of a sudden he's being persecuted!

Maybe the folks who created the book don't like Jesus but the professor was a Christian man just doing his job, stop attacking Christians.
