What this is is 100% proof positive that gun control is absolutely useless as a tool against crime and/or accidents. You could have 25,000 laws against every aspect of what happened there (hell there are almost that many now) which add up to 40,000,000 years in federal pyitap and a gazillion dollar fine, and it will still happen, every time. Laws don't prevent crime. Never have, never will.
I can't tell you how terrified I am of having to go to school every day as a teacher and being left with no means to defend myself and my students because ignorant pvssies have chosen worthless gun control laws over the constitutional right to defend oneself and those within your charge. While I despise what happened I am hopeful that from it, somewhere parents start wanting their children protected at school and allow those of us who are capable and willing the opportunity to do just that.
Any anti-gun people out there, before you come off your rockers to freak out over this, I want to read in complete and total detail exactly how you propose to remove all guns from the planet earth, as well as all explosive materials. Don't walk by and give us your tired and ignorant 'guns are bad, mmmmkay' bs without offering a viable solution.
Damn dude, get out of that school.
Not only do I have a constitutional right to protect myself, I believe as a teacher I have a moral obligation to protect the children given into my care for 1/3 of their day. I can not effectively do that against an armed attacker without my firearm.
Furthermore, you're an idiot. I say that with conviction because I don't hear you complaining about security or police on the campus with a gun, and I have equal or superior training (not to mention moral fiber) to any 'officer' you'd care to compare me to. IF you suggest there should be NO firearms at a school, then you must also restrict law enforcement/security. IF you suggest that only trained and qualified persons should be allowed to carry a weapon, then we are in agreement, and you are supporting my right to be armed.
Furthermore, I'd like to see any support you can offer to your statement, suggesting exactly how restricting firearm possession at school is in any way useful. Did it prevent Columbine, even though those kids possessed the weapons illegally? No. Did all the laws and fervor against firearm possession stop this kid? No. So explain to me HOW in the name of Zeus' BUTTHOLE laws against firearms on school grounds have ever or could ever make the least bit of difference to someone who is already facing life imprisonment, the death penalty, or planning to commit suicied anyway.
Idiot.
You made inferences which are patently faulty. I will not allow ignorance to stand as monument. Make reasonable and rational statements, or keep your mouth shut.

So you're a teacher who wants to be able to carry a gun to school???
I'd really want you teaching my kids.
And who is proposing removing all guns from the planet? Gun control isn't a total ban on guns. There are controls on alcohol, cigarettes, prescription medications, etc. None are as dangerous as firearms yet everyone recognizes the necessity to control their use because they are inherently dangerous yet you want guns to be as readily available as groceries.
Insanity.

That pretty much is an inference that either guns don't belong in a school, or I shouldn't have a gun in school. My reply clearly addressed those inferences. Trying to argue that you didn't say anything that can be argued against is a simplistic defense form that attempts to diffuse responsibility for statements you made stemming from convictions you obviously hold. It is something I don't generally accept and therefore I called you on it.
Either you can make a valid and rational argument supporting your belief that guns or myself should not be in a school (thereby supporting your statement), or you can't (thereby showing your statement idiotic).

AHHHH, now I understand. I apologize, I completely took your statement the wrong way. It was likely entirely my own fault and I am truly sorry I jumped down your throat. I regret that the argument I saw in your words is so prevalent in our society that I immediately assume the worst. 8-(
As for the actual intent of your statement, I don't imagine I'll be in a very bad school at all, but that isn't relavent. These shootings are taking place in small town quiet palces, not just inner cities. They can happen anywhere, anytime, and that's why I want to be allowed to carry. As a teacher you (or parents in general) are trusting me with their children. As I see it if something does occur at my school I'm likely all that will stand between these children and certain death at the hands of a deranged lunatic. I'd much rather be equipped to handle such responsibility.
The current state of civil unrest within America is increasing, and is likely to continue increasing. This will have drastic negative impact on crime, including tragedies like this one. Now is the time to prepare for the worst while we attempt to change for the better.

In what way is the current year relevant to the discussion?
You can't have shooting clubs at schools anymore, because absolutely no firearms are allowed except on the person of a security officer or law enforcement officer chartered to carry one on that facility.
While it would be nice if there were no guns on campus, there are. Kids like this one bring them, and murder our children. If the criminals can carry guns to school, why can't honest responsible people carry them to stop the criminals? That's my point.

Asshole.
Here's your message as a refresher:
You'd go to school with a gun?
Damn dude, get out of that school.
Wow. The only guns in a school should be those used by a Shooting Club. It's the God Damn 21st century, catch up!

Why not knife control? Hell, let's ban all sharp objects...it makes the world safer, right?

Wow, where do you teach? Hopefully far away from me. Teachers should definitely not be packing heat.
Please tell me why you wouldn't want a teacher with extensive training in firearms, and more specifically, handguns, who shoots regularly and also has a CCW permit, in a classroom?
Or are you one of those people that don't believe in CCW permits at all?

What's next, Teachers with Special Forces Training? Ability to kill someone with their barehands in 101 different ways? Why a Handgun, a grenade works better.
Instead of making a Society that's trained to Kill at the drop of a hat, why not attempt to make a Society where people act Civilized? Time for a rethink.

The year is very relevant.
If there are no Shooting Clubs, then there should be no guns. There's something wrong when others have learned to live without Guns everywhere and are benfitting from that decision while some continue to permeate Society with Guns and are rewarded with the need for even more guns. It doesn't make any sense at all.
