My odds for this event:

Overeem 80%, Werdum 20%. Should finish by the end of first round. Werdum better not count on blunders. :)

Barnett 60%, Rogers 40%. This will be more interesting than Overeem's fight, Rogers had better quality recent opponents, if he learned anything, that might mean trouble for Barnett. Still giving edge to Barnett due to higher experience.

Weird... I thought this was scheduled for the 25th for some reason. Thanks for the reminder. Maybe I'll eat some horse meat on Saturday.

WTF this is the second time in a row Dish doesn't show strikeforce in their online grid. Is there some licensing stupidity at work here?

Definitely looking forward to this one. Seeing the whole card is great too, prelims on HDnet and main on ShoHD, can't beat it.

I think Ubereem takes this with ease. I think Barnett should win, but Rogers is definitely a threat if they standing.

Brock's still legit, his MMA resume is far better than Roidereem's. If you even try to argue this I'll put you on ignore again, this time for good.

Brock is not more legit than Overeem. Brock is still a rookie as far as I am concerned. If Werdum wins I will be surprised.

Also, I think it's puss you caved on your bet. Not the end of the world though you do deserve the shit you get for it. A man is only as good as his word.

You weren't even in on the original bet to my knowledge, I think you only profited from it.

What do you mean by in on? I was posting during the thread and saw you post it. You said what you would do if Shogun lost, does everyone have to take you up on it? No, you said if he loses you wont post about MMA for a year, PERIOD.

Why is OP starting MMA threads again? Has it been 1 year already? ;)

Anyway, people underestimate Werdum. He looked like crap in the UFC, but the guy is legit. I think people overestimate Overeem b/c he's got more mussels than an all you can eat seafood buffet (thank "The Voice" for that one). To say he has NO SHOT is stupid. He is arguably the best HW BJJ player in MMA....and my favorite fighter is Big Nog so that says something.

I gotta think Barnett is going to destroy Rogers though. Rogers has heavy hands, but honestly, a decision with Villareal (or whoever) isn't too impressive. Ya, Josh has been beating up cans lately, but he still has too much no the ground for Rogers.

I think Sideburns McGriggs grinds out a decision vs Oldereem
I think Cormier LnP a win vs Snowman
I am VERY excited for Noons vs Masvidal and have a hard time picking a winner there. - I will miss Gina not being on the show, but this fight is WAAAY better.

OP is such a huge old school pride hugger and bandwagoner it's kind of funny, but I appluad him for taking a stand and sticking to it......I believe in Shogun the first time around too, but think Jones beats ever other LHW in contention right now. Machida MIGHT be able to pull out a close decision at some point, but I doubt it.

Hey look who's back! The only surprise is kept your word longer than I thought you would.

I hope Overroid loses, but I don't think he will. He's too strong standing, and I've long thought Werdum as an MMA guy has been vastly overrated. He's completely one dimensional. If Overroid obliges Fabricio like Fedor, we could see an upset, but I don't think he's that reckless.

Unfortunately I agree with all Woosta's picks for this upcoming SF event. Pretty sure that's a sign of the apocalypse. It's been nice knowing you guys...

I won't ever bet a nickel with you on anything ever again, Woosta. But I'd love to see your wager ticket if we ever see Bones fight Shogun again. Calling you blind relative to fight picking is an insult to blind homers everywhere. Stylistically, physically, Rua has NO CHANCE. None. I'll ever go so far as to say the guy will be out of the UFC within 2 years. Rua as you knew him in Pride is gone and he ain't coming back. If you bet on Rua again against Jones you should be committed.

That being said, the only thing better than Bones destroying Shogun will be Hendo stopping Fedor. Fortunately for you, your dog in that fight has a chance.

The reason why Overeem hasn't fought in the MMA scene in the US is quite obvious. They test for steroids here.

You're kidding right? You do realize he has fought in the USA in like the last 6 month.

I'm not counting Werdum out, Werdum is very underrated IMO. Just happens to be that I believe Overeem is damn near unstoppable right now. I honestly see him walking through most of the HW division atm.

You don't need steroids to get to look like Overeem. Hard work and great genetics can accomplish the same thing. Remember we are NOT all created equally when it comes to genetics. Some of us just have more natural muscle on our frames than others. Although it is highly likely he was using some form of performance enhancing "drug". I personally don't care, nor do I see a difference between a balanced diet and shooting steroids. Both are used to accomplish the same goal.

I understand that Overeem is big, scary, and won the K1 GP. BUt who has he beat in MMA recently? Todd Duffee? Fujita? James Thompson? Brett Rogers is about the highest ranked guy current there and he's not exactly top 20 HW material.

Yes, I think tOvereem is going to win, but I don't think he's unstoppable. I might be wron though. People say what they want and make claims vs Overeem, but I like The Reem.

ROTHLMAO!!! We have a comedian here obviously.
Like I said, just because YOU CAN'T DO IT doesn't mean other people are more gifted genetically. Ever done any heavy lifting? I'm guessing you haven't.

I don't disagree with you that his recent MMA career has pit him against some weaker competition, but it isn't like he really struggled either. He has walked through the weak competition just like you would expect from someone of his caliber.

Agreed.

It just makes me shake my head when people just toss out "steroid user" at anyone with a decent physique. Hard work and godlike genetics is extremely underrated.

It makes it more sad if these steroid accusers are people who haven't ever lifted a barbell in their life.

In before Rudee talks about his hardcore lifting regimen.

Brett Rogers was top 10 around the time ( before and after ) Fedor fought him, and is definitely top 20.

It's not that Alistair managed to beat Rogers, it's how easily he managed to do it.
