Street Fighter IV, actual PC release date?

I'm probably one of the few people that actually care, since I don't own a console (no I'm not pretentious and just want to play on PC - I don't have a 360 or PS3, and it was cheaper for me to build a very decent gaming computer) but does anyone know what the actual date of the PC release of SFIV is? I remember the last thing I read about it was on IGN, and it said it was coming "sometime after" the console release, but they didn't specify.

On Wikipedia, it says Q2 2009 and cites Gamespot. Does anyone know if a more definitive answer was released?

Oh yeah, and if anyone is worried about controls on PC, the official FightPad and FightStick work on PC.

BTW: I looked at DMC4 and Lost Planet as examples of PC releases from consoles coming from Capcom. Both had a 6 month gap between console and PC. But, Devil May Cry 4 was not announced for the PC until 2 months after its release on consoles, while the PC release of SFIV was announced at the same time as the console announcement.

Amazon is listing a February 17th release date for the PC version, but that seems unlikely since Capcom's announcement for the first half of the year says that the PC version is coming out at a "later date" (but I'm guessing before the end of Q2 since the announcement pertained to the first half of the year):

Apparently Gamestop is listing June 2nd as the release date:

Honestly though, it shouldn't take so long to "port". The arcade version is a running on Taito board, which is actually a Core 2 Duo with a GeForce 7900.

I'll be playing Street Fighter III and Alpha 3 on Dreamcast to hold me off...

I actually care quite a bit as well, as I also don't own a console and find playing traditionally console type games to be a refreshing break from the typical PC fare. That being said, I have no idea. I hope though that the gameplay is closer towards SFA3 than it is towards the original SF2........

I didn't even know that they came out with a Street Fighter 3. I probably spent more money on Street Fighter 2 than any other game at the arcade. It would probably be fun to play the newer versions. I'll probably pick it up when it is released on the PC.

I can't wait. I'll probably visit the arcade first to check it out and play it once or twice. The rest of the money will be saved for buying the game + joystick if I like it enough.

The SF2 series is probably the game I played the most. Who knows how much money I've invested into the arcades. Good thing it was only a quarter to play back then. I don't know how kids can afford to go to the arcades now.

i wonder how it will play with a gamepad. i'll probably pick it up, i was a huge SFII junkie in the 90's.

i have a feeling they're gonna cancel the PC version the last minute. i am really hoping that they dont, but i just have a feeling. hopefully the online play interface is good

May lightning strike your tongue for saying such a thing j/k

They better not cancel it!

It would be pretty awesome if somehow PC gamers can play against Xbox360 or PS3 owners.

I'm exited about the PC version as well. I have a 360 but I'd much rather get the PC version since I'd be able to play online without having to pay for xbox live. I'm afraid that there will be hardly anyone online for the PC version though.

I'm buying this! Gonna pick up the 360 Arcade stick, it's USB so I'll have arcade exact goodness on my PC 😀 If the game is as good as I'm betting I'll probably build a cabinet for it. It's a damn shame Capcom isn't releasing the deluxe edition on the PC, I guess I should be happy the PC doesn't have to wait 1-3 years like typical Capcom ports 🙂

Does anyone know if the arcade sticks are limited? I read one place they are and to buy them the second you see them. But another site said they're not limited and won't be hard to get after the inital rush has died down. I don't want to miss out and have to pay 2x the price on Ebay for something limited. $150 is already too much to spend lol.

Some groups have written Net code that is basically freaking amazing...while others.............could learn from the former

I know a lot of people who are going to get it, go out on a limb and support it so that future street fighters might come to pc

Hopefully there'll be a way to play only people nearby and not just be randomly matched up against someone in north america.

SF4 is built from the ground up to be an online game, so the game mechanics are designed with lag in mind.

Is there any information anywhere on what the hardware requirements are for this game are? I'm getting this for PS3 but am considering getting it for PC also... especially if PC can play versus X360.

From checking SRK, seems like still no info at all about the PC version.

It'll probably have relatively decent system requirements, since the arcade board the ports for 360 and ps3 were based off of are PCs running Windows XP Embedded, using E6600s and GeForce 7900 cards.

BTW: Amazon updated with a June 30th release date...DARN

JUNE 30TH OMG

June 30th? 🙁 and double 🙁 🙁 because I bet when June 30th gets closer it will get changed to August or November. This is the ONE PC game I wanted this year. Oh well,it gives me time to save up and find the deluxe arcade stick. Which I shall use to dominate any challengers on here who want some of this.

yep 🙂

it's supposed to come out in Q2 2009, which means April/May/June. That's probably why Amazon has that June 30th date, since it's the last day of Q2...

It'll probably be out sooner, but Capcom won't say so until the release hype for consoles has passed.
