I have a hard time believing it will be PS4 only. Capcom would be incredibly stupid to cut out the Xbox One entirely. It might have some console specific DLC or unlockable character though.

The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One 20-1 in Japan. Capcom has also done exclusives with Sony before. So it's possible. Realistically though, it will likely be a timed exclusive. It's rare to see games from a major publisher come to PC but not Xbox.

I don't care either way because I absolutely suck at fighting games. :p

The video did not say Xbox anywhere.

And the Destiny videos don't say Xbox anywhere either. It is certainly not exclusive.

Also, Japan doesn't buy a lot of console fighters. There is little reason when they have an actual arcade scene.

For SF4 (not counting super and ultra), the US Xbox sales were over 3x the Japanese PS3 sales. NA is by far the largest market. Going PS4 only would cut down significantly on the amount of NA sales they will get. The PS4 might be outselling the Xbox One, but it isn't like the Xbox One is failing.

No it says at the end of the video. "Exclusively on PS4 and PC" you can find it still via google.

hah wow that is crazy. that is going to be the dagger for x1 for fighters if that is true. i mean ki is awesome, but it's no where NEAR the level of sf4, not even close.

as of now i am not all in on this game either. capcom has been really disappointing recently with the sf4 updates and shit, so f' em. i'll wait to see some of this before i decide. i'm sure it's not even close to being released anyways.

you remember that weird ass video they had a while back? about like ryu being a cab driver or some shit? it had a hint in it about something being a playstation exclusive. this wouldn't surprise me based on this.

but then again ... remember sf4 was never going to come out on pc according to capcom. and look where it is now, right there on pc. capcom lies right to your face so you can't take anything they say as gospel.

Yeah I just saw the articles and thought to myself..."wow, never expected that" but really I dunno if I'm down for it. The little clips don't appear that much different than SF4 but of course you don't know the game or the characters from just a short clip.

I really hope the Tekken X Streetfighter game gets a large scene playing it. I REALLY like Tekken (because it feels far more natural to me and thus I'm better at it and who doesn't like what they're good at!).

Asuka Kazama...

I just need Tekken to become popular again so I can be good at a fighting game!

I think it's a timed exclusive though.

Um, yeah Tekken x SF is pretty much never going to happen. With the failure of SF x Tekken and Harada saying he had hoped fans forgot about the announcement, it sure isn't looking good.

I thought Capcom said the PC release was a delayed release, to help piracy in Chinese bootleg arcades. The SF4 cabs were super expensive and you had to buy them in pairs, so they wanted to cash in on that and avoid the PC version being installed on a PC and put in a cab.

This being PS4 only is pretty much Capcom saying "well, we don't want a bunch of money." It is beyond stupid. Although, I do believe the TE2 works with both PS3 and PS4, so at least, I won't have to buy another stick (although, I probably will eventually).

I'm pretty sure they're getting a bunch of money from Sony for making it an exclusive.

capcom said it was never coming to pc initially. they are just full of shit and lie all over the place.

just like they said they couldn't put spectator mode in mvc3 because there were too many characters on screen and too much stuff going on, and instead had stupid icons bouncing around while you watched life bars deplete ... then umvc3 came out with spectator mode.

just like how capcom said it's not technically possible to use ggpo/rollback code in a fighting game that uses 3d models ... then sfxt came out with it (and it was awful and buggy as shit, with sound glitches everywhere) and killer instinct has rollback code that is virtually distinguishable from playing someone sitting right next to you.

yeah ... i don't trust a word capcom says. i'll be 100% shocked if this isn't just a time release exclusive. capcom may be liars and a lot of things, but it's painfully obvious they are a company that is 100% about the money and that's it, so there is no way they will miss out on cashing in on xbox1 game sales.

A controlled "leak" for a game now has become a milking machine.. until it dries up.

Also of note is there was a PlayStation experience show scheduled for tomorrow. Perhaps this video was meant to be released for that.

The articles claim the video is for the Playstation Experience event, so I'm sure some kind of exclusive content for it will likely be in place (which is beyond stupid and fragments the already fragmented community). The last thing we need is banned characters in tournaments because half the players have zero access to them or half the players whining they can't prepare for a character without spending $500+ dollars on a console they don't own.

i think the problem with tekken in general is that it hasn't changed at all. it's the same old stuff it's always been. like i remember playing dark resurrection (which was like tekken 5 or something similar) and doing literally the same exact moves as i was doing in tekken 2 with king and law. like, sure in sf you can do the same things too, but the game play is very different. the engine in all tekken games feel very similar to me, whereas in street fighter they are very different.

SF also adds a new "mechanic" in each iteration. 2 eventually added super meters. 3 added the parry system. 4 added the focus attack and FADC. 5 will add some new gimmick.

Tekken hasn't really added much. I suppose the "berserk" mode when you're about to die was added at some point, but the core mechanics of the game seem to have remained unchanged. Sure, some of the moves' frames and their priority has changed, but not much else looks to be different. It is also a 3D fighter, so it has that going against it. >_>
