A quick google search shows that it is possible ot use a ps3 controller on a PC. I'll try that, it should be a good alternative to a 360, albeit a wired one.

Which joysticks are compatible with both PS3 and PC? I'd like to maximize my investment for now and future.

None that I know of are compatible without an adapter. (I might be wrong off course) With an adapter just about any of them are. I'd recommend the TE FightStick or the Anniversary pad... both are awesome with the stick being the best off course.

The basic PS3 controller is not good for this game because it's dpad arrows are not connected.

What kind of adapter are you talking about, ibex333? Yes I'd rather play this game with arcade sticks.

Err...

That's a big pass from me then. I had a little waning interest, but not so much anymore. I'd rather buy it for the 360 than deal with the mess they call windows live.

I am forced to play at low-medium to low settings to get good, enjoyable frame rates. Mind you the game still looks no worse than the xbox version at that point...

How???

Runs super smooth for me and look b-e-a-utiful.

Controls will be tricky to setup but being a PC gamer I've done it many times in the past. Hoping to get SNES like controls :p - Using a PS2 controller.

tried it out myself with the xbox 360 controller. looks like I'll dig my old MS Sidewinder gamepad out of the closet and try that one's d-pad.

really, the 360 controller is terrible for this game. all you really can do with it is punch/kick, the quarter-turns and zig-zags are ridiculously hard to do since the d-pad is terrible and you end up jumping instead of doing your move. game looks and runs great though, 60fps constant with 8xAA/16xAF. the ink effect is kind of cool.

Really haven't played a Street Fighter since Street Fighter 2 on snes. This one goes back to those roots a little bit, but still a lot of complicated crap going on I can't figure out. While I do miss the simpleness of SF2, that's never coming back :p

Got the PS2 controller set up perfectly but still have trouble with some things. For instance I can't do guile's triple backflip thing no matter how many times I try. Other things are pretty simple though. I did Zangeifs pile driver on about the 3rd try, not even knowing if that was still a move he does :p

So maybe need to get a controller specifically made for SF.

Or for anyone...I couldn't find out how to do it in the options or anything.
Got it! Your ULTRA round bar should probably be filled then do the ultra combo from the list inside the game.

If I buy this on Steam, will I be able to play it on any computer in my house that is signed into Steam currently?

I'm pretty sure the game will launch on any computer with a Steam account (even if it's a single one with the same login information) but the moment you go online or use any online function, it should kick any other instances of your account off-line than the the current one you are on. So if you're simply asking if you can install the game on multiple computers and run the game on multiple computers one-at-a-time then absolutely.

Impulse (for what it's worth) is a lot more forgiving as Stardock has their whole "Anti-DRM" thing going for them, so a lot of the games you buy on Impulse can be played via Lan easily. Online however is the same exact thing; the moment you sign on a duplicate the other instances are kicked off.

Basically you're golden if you're simply asking about Lan play (although Impuslse would be the safer bet). But I'm not even sure SFIV has lan support, as I thought it only had Arcade Hot Seat Play and Windows Live. (Someone chime in if its Lan-able)

debating whether to buy the steam one or the amazon one bundled with madcatz ryu fight pad.

i have a logitech rumblepad2 and xbox controllers, and supposedly xbox d-pad is no good for this game, but how about my rumblepad?

the thing with madcatz fight pad is it will be good only for SF4 since it lacks analog sticks. and i don't want 3 gamepads cluttering.
