What strategy game would you like to see come back from the dead?

I'll start out with Star Control.

How the hell did I post this here 😛

Move please.

homeworld, hell yes.

also ground control

supreme commander - even though planetary annihilation is coming out i'd still like a similar game on flat maps. my hope is some enterprising modders will deliver

also age of empires

C&C Red Alert
Master of Magic
Supreme Commander (SupCom2 was a joke)

By Star Control, are you referring to the RPG or is there actually another game by the same name?

MASTER OF ORION!

Seriously. MOO3 is STILL a joke all these years later, and MOO2 is STILL one of the most beloved games in the genre.

We deserve a real, true, quality sequel.

I would like to see a quality C&C reboot, as well as an Age of Empires reboot. I *SO* loved AoE II, still one of my favorites ever.

EDIT: Oh, and Homeworld also, as others have said.

Homeworld is the obvious choice here.

Any 4X game, MOO being my main pick. Also Imperium Galactica. We got two traditional 4X games then it got bastardized into Nexus The Jupiter incident and that was it. No more.
A Galactic Civilization that ISNT expansion packs.

Shadow President

Star Wars: Rebellion (Empire At War was just okay)

Ancient Art of War (AAoW: Sea was one of my all-time favorites)

Not a single competent successor that included tactical turn based ship battles. I think Distant Worlds gave the best overall followup experience, but that game is incredibly unwieldly, stupidly expensive, and lacked turn based combat.

Good suggestions here.
I'd like to see a space 4x get AAA treatment, the genre has been neglected and abused for a while now.

Not 4x, but here's another really oldy but goody.
Sword of the samurai - released by microprose for dos in 1989

it's already coming back. AOEII. i've thought about that came coming back on and off for over a decade. and it's coming true. the only bad thing about it is that it is coming out in April, when it's nice to be out and about, why couldnt it come out during the winter?
