I liked the demo to some degree...had a lot of neat gameplay features...not just a rehash of Max Payne. I didn't make it all the way through the demo because I had to head out...but I found it fun. That being said, the sliding is a bit rediculous and the graphics were not as good as I would have liked for a "next-gen" console game. Obviously they put more of the systems firepower behind all of the physics/tons of objects on screen...but I was still slightly disappointed by the graphics. The story didn't grab me as much either...but that might be because I didn't make it all the way through the demo. I'll try it again this weekend. Probably wouldn't be an immediate buy from me...but possibly a discount buy sometime down the road.

sliding on everything is just stupid. very cool at first, but man, it gets annoying that it doesnt matter what you bump into, it just makes you slide across. it has some nice physics, and lots of things on screen but graphics are lacking. The gameplay feels nice and loose, and the story could be good. I think this will be a rental for me if I'm bored or want a good single player. We'll see, I will play it again when I get home

You don't slide when crouched.
Beating the game once unlocks a third Tequila bomb and Hard Difficulty.
Beating the game a second time unlocks the final Tequila bomb and Hard-Boiled difficulty.
Max Payne is inspired by John Woo films, so this comes full circle if anything.

I agree. The sliding was over the top. There were several times where I ran up to an object (counter, box, whatever...) intending to crouch and take cover behind it and instead slid right over the top so that instead of being behind cover I was out in the open on the wrong side of the object that was supposed to be my cover.

I can see the potential of the game though. As others have mentioned they should make the sliding based on momentum and have it set as an action that is started by either a button press or by simply diving on top of it. I don't want my character to auto-slide over the top of an object by running up to it because sometime I ran up to it to take cover!
