PC and homophobia aside, a $17 buck "advertise a message" tee-shirt is worthy of a "hotdeal" thread??!!

NOT!!

Mods: Lock this up or I'll post STaples coupons # in this space.

I am surprised at the number of replies here... First, no agenda. This is just a rare shirt (like posting a decent deal on an Ipaq 3650) that is relatively decently priced. I have gay relatives that I love very much... At the same time, I am proud of my own sexuality and believe I should be able to show my beliefs just as well as many homosexuals do. The "flamming" comment was to add a bit of humor and don't believe it is offensive to anyone that is not looking for something to cry about. We joke about sex all the time in our everyday lives... no reason to leave out a big part of our society. They like jokes too...

Please stop crying about this not belonging here.. you can find gay pride shirts easily... but these you cannot find easily and therefore is at least a warm deal for some. If it is not warm/hot to you then don't read or bother with this thread.

My 5 cents:

It's not a hot deal.

There shouldn't be a problem wearing a gay pride shirt or a straight pride shirt.

however, if you wear something like a straight pride shirt, be prepared for abuse because you will be considered racist and a bigot.

i'm glad i don't live in the liberal land of MN.

the cleveland library system doens't permit librarians to stop patrons from viewing porno even when children can see it but doesn't permit librarians to wear cleveland indians gear.

i'm glad i don't live there either.

yes, i've missed many job solely because of my race. here is the same sentence i've heard a dozen times, "we are very impressed with you as a candidate, however we are not hiring candidates that fail to further diversify our workforce"

i've also heard this, "your request for student aid has been denied. we give priority to students that diversify the student body"

it's simple, treating someone differently because of their race, religion or sexual orientation is always wrong.

I still don't understand. If you shows "straight-pride" you'll get sued, but if you show alternative-pride, everybody supports you. Same with situation where a group of people yell "white-power", everyone cries racists, while in some other conferences, the leader yell "black-power", everyone cheers. What's up with this?

This country is sick, sick I tell you.

All right, I'm sick of you people whining about intolerance, bigotry, etc.
I'm tired of people who have the philosophy that anyone who disagrees with what someone is doing is intolerant and/or a bigot. I think homosexuality is wrong. However, I don't use slurs against them and I don't treat them any differently than anyone else. I have friends who are homosexuals and they know what my opinion of it is. They know where I stand, but they also know that I will treat them like a real person. You think that you're open-minded just because you believe that everything is ok? Wake up. To be open-minded, you have to look at arguments on both sides of the issue and examine them next to what you believe is true. It is the willingness to examine and evaluate new ideas that makes you open-minded. You people that react with shock to anything that could potentially offend anyone are moral and intellectual cowards and you are just as "open-minded" as the KKK. This whole philosophy is based on the "I'm ok, you're ok" point of view. As long as you don't tell me what I'm doing is wrong, I'll leave you alone, too. This is completely spineless and it results in a generation of people who don't believe in anything except for serving themselves. If I tell you what I think you're doing is wrong, I'm not discriminating against you. I'm telling you what I think. I fully support the rights of people to do whatever they want as long as it does not infringe upon the rights of others. I also support the rights of anyone to say what they think about whatever they want to as long as it doesn't amount to assault or slander. You people who act like you sat on a tack every time someone says or does something that isn't PC are, for the most part, far more intolerant than the average Joe. To most people, it looks pretty good, like you're standing for equality and justice. All you're really showing me is that you're closed-minded and that you are simply trained monkeys who yell bigot!, racist!, bible-thumper!, intolerant!, ignorant!, and all your other derogatory terms whenever someone presents a viewpoint that you think might upset someone. Grow up.

Yep, Mr Jangles, that's about the size of it. The bleeding hearts preach tolerance - except if your views oppose their own. At least I'm honest about it - I'm not tolerant of everything (I believe there are absolute rights and wrongs), and am big enough to admit it. I'd rather be labeled "intolerant" than "hypocritical" any day.

WHY IS THIS NOT A HOT DEAL??

I think it's probably one of the best deals i've seen on here, I mean why can't people be proud of what they are? If it was irish/german/russian/canadian/black/gay/japanese pride would it be any different? What if it was "white pride"?

Would you people still be moaning your hatred?? Just because being straight is the majority does that mean they shouldn't be able to wear t-shirts saying they're straight?

what is wrong with this? I say anyone that sees anything wrong with these t-shirts needs to get that stick outta there a**

BTW: sorry but I won't be buying one, yes i'm proud to be straight but i don't enjoy wearing my views on my t-shirt or car for that matter, actually i don't have any bumper stickers on my car, even though there's quite a few i wish i could put on :)

Figured I'd chime in while the thread was up at the top.

A hot deal it ain't, plain and simple. There's nothing "wrong" with the shirts.

Had this been a free t-shirt (even $5), it would have been worthy of hot deal status. This thread screams of off-topic to me.

<< 17 bucks is a rip off >>

well then, know where you can get the t-shirt for cheaper??

That site is the cheapest place i've found for the straight pride t-shirts. They're not easy to find, and $17 is a pretty good price.

if you find another place that's cheaper, please post it!
