Are you talking about the strafing at an angle while jumping? Most bunny hopping is just getting the angle part down so you are moving in the direction you want to go. Minimizing the time spent on the ground (IE the bunny hopping), and the time spent readjusting to each side per jump.
If you need scripts to bunny hop, rocket jump, or anything else you have problems. I called the BS flag on a "Pro" clan using scripted grenade jumps back in Q3. I got a lot of flak because it was just for grenade jumping and it was so trival. Then I brought up the fact that if it was so trival why would one use it. Things got a bit quit after that.
Though the defense against bunny hopping, is that it's hard to make sharpt turns without losing all that speed or stopping entirely. I played Q3: WFA and they had the offhand grapple that eliminated that entirely. You could grapple jump and being going nearly max speed right away, and grapple at any angle to change your direction quickly.
Edit: Also at least for Q3 they had timedemo maps that required you to do the "special" moves like bunny hop to get enough speed over a jump, combination rocket jumps, wall climb with the plasma and so on. So you might want to check to see if any are available for D3. You should be able to pick up some pro timedemos for the levels to see how they look, if they have those type of maps out.
