Don't forget, Classy, you are a homophobic bigot. 😀

OK I know a Long Pig is what Pacific Island Cannibals called humans they ate but you will have to explain the "Black Angus" comment.Originally posted by: Moonbeam

anyways, back to boycotting those two damned countries!
Yes, you are right! Please read the post above for a fuller understanding. I'm saying that some people are posting insults and calling them arguements. I just wanted to see if people could behave in a more polite way towards each other - even when they disagree. I do all the time.

Fencer128 For the record, I'm 1/2 French (actually I'm a mix of nearly every european nation that currently exists) & I think what the French are doing is a disgrace, & the Germans have turned into a pacifist bunch of losers since reunification. I've come to expect obstructionist crap from China & Russia, but our "European allies" should be ashamed. You're obviously not supportive of military involvement in Iraq, woo hoo... Because it offends you, evidently I'm not allowed to voice my opinion? The EU can't even agree on what symbols to put on the Euro without a 5 year long freaking discussion, name calling & back-stabbing. Bite me & guess what? We're probably going to kick some Iraqi ass whether France or Germany likes it or not. Oh BTW, I believe this board is operated in the US & it's private property, I respectfully suggest you boycot this forum & not buy anymore products from it's parent company, I believe Tom's Hardware "Other" Forum may meet your immediate needs. (watch out for Tom's silk PJ's & veiled homoerotic innuendos). Have a good day sir, (lunatic hugs his guns, wraps himself in a right wing flag waits to be banned)😀 BTW, ever since my ex wife moved to Cheltenham & started dodging paying child support, the UK is on my list too...
Well, that explains a lot! I wondered why Anand never posted to these boards, and it turns out he did, and he was just calling himself Pliablemoose! Well, since this is your privately owned board, then you can tell people to do what you like...
And let me remind you that the US is supposed to be the "land of the free" based on tenets of equality and free speech. Not an authoritarian dictatorship where you can agree with Pliablemoose or be deported.

You are wasting your time, F128. Hopefully the regression of this thread has made that clear to you once and for all.I would like to know if people agree that arguements should be kept civil and that this kind of "bashing" should stop. It doesn't prove anybody's point.
I would also be interested to hear the opinions (I have had to edit here to say "opinions" not "insults") of any one (French or German in particular) about how they feel towards these forums, and if that has changed of late.

Classy, if it weren't for insults, you and I would have nothing to say to each other. 😉
To insult you I have to find you underground. Deep deep underground. 😀 But this board is probably 95% white and 80% republican. And because of those 2 factors there is no way in hell there could possibly be any meaningful discussion when race, creed, or nationality is involved. No offense.

wish the AT mods would try that for a month or so, I bet you would see ALOT of difference and alot of members banned 😛Originally posted by: sandorski

It's been pointed out a million times already that your use of "racism" is incorrect, but I wholeheartedly agree on your call to "civility". Unfortunetly, some people don't have the self-control to do this and due to the structure of ATOT it is next to impossible to get a "civil" discussion on sensitive issues here.
If you really want "civil" discussion on such topics, the Soap Box at Ars Technica comes pretty close. There the mods step in and try to keep topics ontrack and they will lock/ban those who don't contribute to the discussion at hand. Unfortunetly(why I don't post there anymore 🙁 ), you have to have a Subscription.

Speech is not nearly as free on Ars Technica soap box. The mods here are much more restained.
This is just my observation anyway.

I swear I love you guys 😀. Okay now lets be honest for a minute here. This board is dominated by whites and republicans overwhelmingly. I didn't call anyone racist or anything. But because of these two factors it would extremely hard to have a discussion about race, creed, or nationality because the dominate view here would be skewed. Case in point. If someone lived in a cave all their life and only logged in here to OT forums here at Anandtech they would come away with a very negative slanted view on blacks and rap music. Almost every conversation about blacks and rap music is usually negative. I could same the same about being democrat. Many if not all these coversations more often than not only present one side the arguement seen through predominately the same kinds of eyes. Its like a person going to an Italian resteraunt to learn how to cook soul food. He may learn about cooking soul food there, but it will definately have a slant to it. Thats all I'm saying. Some of yall need to chill. 🙂
see, this is exactly what I'm talking about, its IMPOSSIBLE to have an intelegent discussion on this boardOriginally posted by: charrison

Why am I not surprised you think free speech is a mess.
