Stool blockage is not fun :(

Went to the ER last night cause I thought my stomach ache that has lasted for 3 weeks might have ruptured something. The pain got a lot worse the last 2 days. Not screaming pain or anything of course but think really bad indigestion for 3 weeks, getting worse every couple of days. Woke up this morning in real pain, shivering. I've been to doctors in between of course and they had me on a couple of proton pump inhibitors, did blood tests and the like. Nothing seemed to help. It didn't help that I was coming off of one antidepressant and starting another, which I've since changed, so it was hard to know what feelings to attribute to what. Was I shivering like this due to anxiety, which I no doubt had, or cause of a fever from an infection? Anyway long story short ER visit ruled out anything really serious. X-ray shows I have a stool blockage, not full. Got some pain meds and Laxatives. Will see how things go. Abdomen feels like my intestines are about to burst.

we always knew you were full of shit.

Indeed :D

I would not have thought of this diagnosis cause I've been still going number 1 during this period. And they weren't painful or really difficult. But apparently that doesn't rule it out.

does that mean u didnt go potty for 3 weeks????

No if that were the case I would have thought of the diagnosis myself. But apparently you don't have to cease all bowel movements. I wasn't going normally though. Though they weren't difficult.

Please dont forget to follow up with your pmd or a gastroenterologist. Often at your age, subtle signs can suggest irritable bowel syndrome or inflamatory bowel disease.

Also make sure you are getting plenty of fiber. An by that I mean look at the packages, count up the grams and make sure, because many people especially those in their teens and 20's dont get enough fiber, and this leads to bowel problems latter in life that cant be fixed.

Stool blockage

Nothing a pair of forceps can not fix.

Have a cute nurse reach up in there, grab that turd and pull it out. You might experience a feeling of being stretched, but everything will come out in the end.

Could always try taking hardcore dopamine stimulants like Dexedrine or Adderall. I know someone who has suffered major problems with constipation and blockages their whole life and the problem immediately goes away when they are on stimulant drugs. Does your body show any signs of low dopamine activity?
-lack of working memory
-inability to concentrate on specific tasks
-poor muscle control
-inability to sit or stand still
-dopamine seeking behaviors like constantly jacking off
-addictive personality in general

It sounds like a weird connection until one realizes that the body and mind use the same fuel.
children with ADHD (dopamine problems in the brain) often also have irritable bowel syndrome (dopamine problems in the gut)

Well I hope you took a piss in the last 3 weeks.

Thanks. Yeah I definitely need to look into adding more fibre to my diet. Mostly in the form of vegetables and fruit. I should be getting enough grains and cereals.

Watch those grains, much of it is so processed that there just isnt any fiber.

As for the Hydromorphone, that too is very constipating.

I'll look into it thanks. I'll ask the shrink I'm now seeing next visit. However I don't have very many classic ADHD symptoms.

Just try doing what I do and eat a medium-sized salad at the end of each meal; and plenty of water regardless of your chosen fiber source. So many people forget the latter fact and then bitch about how constipated their fiber source made them. Fiber absorbs water, which makes it soft and easy to pass. No water + fiber = hard, constipated shits that produce hemorrhoids.
