stomach fat lose with a bad back

I will try to fill you in as best as possible. I am 26 a 6ft tall male and weighed 215 lbs 4 months ago. I currently weigh 185 right now. I am trying to do something with my stomach but I need ideas. I had a microlaminectomy aka lower back surgery done last may. I had 3 herniated discs but they fixed one since it was pinching my sciatic nerve. I still have 2 bad discs and cannot do situps without very bad back pain.

I want to strengthen my stomach to make it easier on my back. Anyone have any ideas I'm all ears
 
You can't spot lose fat. I.E., you can't lose fat just from your midsection. Our genes tell our bodies where to store fat. If you want to lose "belly fat" I'd recommend a good, clean diet, cardio (esp. High Intensity Interval Training), and weight training (might be hard with your back).

You'll lose fat all over, but some of it will be from your abdomen.
 
You could do endless amounts of sit ups and never lose any stomach fat. Diet and excercise incorporating compound movements is the best way to go.

Try out Insanity. It's all basically cardio and plyometric interval training, with some good stretching. Also, don't eat junk food. Also, your genes and build type will depend on how much weight you can lose. At 6' 185 sounds resonable. I am about 5 foot 9, but my walking weight is reasonable at 185 b/c I have a more stocky build. Insanity is good because you never do any cruches. All ab work and core work is gotten through push ups, planks, and other multi muscle movement exercises. However, it is not for people who are very out of shape as the work outs are really intense at times.
 
How's your insurance?

Get a referral to see a physical therapist. They've gone through 3 years of school and training (after undergrad) to teach you exercises that will allow you to fix your problems yourself.
 

There are a lot of articles on it. It attacks certain receptors for fat. Those receptors reside in abundance in the lower part of the body, particularly for women. Men in the belly area have those same receptors. In my experience it does not work as well on women. But for men it does works in the belly area. I have a flat stomach and when I move or breathe you can see my six pack. But that has come about from using yohimbine and I have changed nothing else. Now you have to take a dose for the purpose of this, I take 15 mgs a day. I am 5'10 190-192. It does work though. Like I said for women in theory it should be a hit, but in the several I have seen, they said it did nothing noticeable. But for dudes it does help for the belly area.

And its not expensive at all.

having had spinal fusion for 2 herniated discs, i know your pain. the only type of cardio you can really do without causing yourself pain is probably the exercise bike. just start biking. the treadmill is killer, especially since you just had your surgery. did you go to PT after your surgery? usually they will tell you what you can and can't do. you really shouldn't be asking people on a forum what to do, as you may undo anything your doctor has done.

I am going to second this. I can't believe they didn't send you to PT after your surgery, or more importantly before. I was able to go without surgery on herniation and disc tear by doing copious amounts of PT. Good Luck.

I couldn't find much research supporting the claim that yohimbine induces fat loss in humans other than that it increases anxiety-like physiological symptoms, which could possibly lead to reduced food intake. Not saying it doesn't exist or that I completed an overly-thorough search, but even literature reviews in the area weren't able to pull anything up other than data that suggested against its weight-loss properties. It has, however, been tried as a possible treatment for erectile dysfunction, although in larger quantities it may actually be somewhat toxic.
