I wonder if the track let him make another run... usually if you brake into the 10s with no cage or helmet they bar you from running again until you have the required safety equipment.

Assuming that the attached picture in the original post showing 2 time slips from the same day are both his. I'm going to go with, yes, they allowed him to make at least a second run.

If it's a private event, they make you sign a waiver and they are somewhat lax on safety. That's why I only run at private events.

I wouldn't doubt it. I saw a ZR-1 drag, it would spin tires, go side way on third gear, and still trap a 126mph.

Good lord - that is amazing performance in a stock, streetable car. Honestly I'd still take a 911 Turbo or GT-R instead, but I have great respect for the ZR1's raw numbers.

The helmet he should have to have at most tracks regardless of what time you run though. I am curious about the cage aspect of it. I wonder though if this car is capable 10s stock then it is assumed to be safe to run in that bracket? I may have to call on that one cause now I am curious.

Who cares, it still has push rods, leaf springs, a plastic bumper, and ox cart suspension.

Most importantly it doesn't have a BMW /Mercedes badge.

Did I miss anything?

Crappy interior! Hard plastics!

Ah yeah the Cavalier interior.

I bet if you jump up and down on the roof or hood it buckles, cheap GM garbage.

And no angel eyes or 720 degree rotating scissor doors ? That kills it for me.

Where's the launch control?

That's handled by NASA out of necessity. GM has no experience with moon launches. That's the real reason for the shuttles being taken offline, they need the launch control center for ZR1s.

Amazing passes. There are a couple guys on the Vette forum running incredible times in bone stock cars. A guy named Ranger was running high 10's in a Z06.
