Stock ZR1 goes low 10s on DR's...Again

Lift the front tires, run 10's at the track (without powershifting) and drive it home with a warranty. Truly impressive for a production car. Also, hats off to the guy for doing this on his first time out with this car. I wonder what it would take to get to the 9s...

According to the log on page 4...

0-60 time = 2.195 seconds
60-130 time = 6.165 seconds
0-145 time = 10.65 seconds

Wow! Nice!

March 2012 issue of Automobile has the cover story: Camaro Outmuscles Corvette! That was versus a Corvette Grand Sport model, not the ZR1.

Umm. Did anyone also notice it's lifted the front tires? Wow. These cars are insane.

Yeah, I think I did (in the first sentence) 😉

0-60 in 2.2sec? Seriously?

that seems a bit far fetched.

Look up the following two cars, MT tested both of them:

02 Lingenfelter Chevrolet Corvette 0-60 mph 1.97 Quarter mile 9.1
02 Viper Hennessey Venom 1000TT 0-60 mph 2.2 Quarter mile 9.4

Remember, drag radials + VHT + no shifting (ZR1 1st gear goes to 64mph) = quick launch.

Did you see the test of the new Kawasaki ZX14R? 9.7 s at 147 all day long with a pro-rider. Bone stock. I'm just sayin'.

VHT?

I saw those videos and the one of the guy doing the 10.33. Bonkers, I'm just surprised it didn't break down (had to get that jab in there). So crazy, and awesome, I was almost sporting a semi.

I still find that one of the most hilariously insignificant things to get upset about.

Just crap from arm-chair Top gear fans who will never own a supercar anyways...

As much as I enjoy watching TG, you learn pretty quick that a UK company that makes an all plastic 'sports car' does so to save weight and its 'brilliant!', but a plastic body panel that is plastic on a ZR1 is 'terrible'. Take it with a grain of salt...

The ZR1 is very light, thats one reason it handles so well.
