Still can't figure out why my games are freezing

basically this is what happens, every 30seconds-1minute while playing video games my game will lag/freeze for 10 seconds.

Computer specs \/

http://i77.photobucket.com/alb...pilot40oz/CPUZinfo.jpg

I thought it was cooling, got 2 80mm fans, one intake in the front, one exhaust in the back.

Didn't do anything.

This freezing all happened after I got my new motherboard, cpu and ram.

BIOS is up to date, so are video card drivers.

No virus's

Paging file set at 1536-1536 because I heard you are suppose to make it 1.5 times your ram if you are at 1gig or over, but now there is a little box on steam games saying "OS paged pool memory low"

Just need any help trying to fix this, I have spent $400 for these upgrades and now I can't even play games without the freezes which makes playing them useless.

If you need anymore information let me know.

Guys,
Paged pool is not the same as the pagefile. http://support.steampowered.co...php?ref=5034-EIPV-6426 has a brief writeup. Changing the size of the pagefile to automatically allow Windows to manage it is wise and may be helpful, but the paged pool running out is typically due to drivers using too much ... you guessed it ... paged pool (not pagefile). Read the link for more; google site:support.microsoft.com with that error for a real writeup.

There are some games that have this problem with certain driver/hardware combinations.

Technically that's correct, but it's always the driver's fault if the box is crashing/hanging/whatnot. No usermode (game, program, etc.) app can impact a box like that --- that's 100% a driver problem. The fact that some games may make the driver flaws more obvious isn't the game's fault.

Every single game, even games like warcraft 3 that can be run with a computer from 1998.

The main games I am playing that it happens are:

Diablo 2
Warcraft 3
GTA: San Andreas
Team Fortress 2
Garry's Mod

Did you increase your page POOL size (Note: not your pagefile size; two totally different things)?

Did you remove your antivirus application? Can you repro the issue with your AV completely uninstalled?

I uninstalled my AVG antivirus a couple days ago and yes it still does it, I have no clue how to increase my pool size.

okay, is it still giving the same error codes and messages as in your OP, and is it still doing it as frequently as it was?
try disabling your network adapter in bios and try a game of Diablo 2.

I'm concerned that the game makers only fix is for the users to put themselves and their personal data at risk by uninstalling their AV software.

before wildfires took all my hardware, I had no problems running HL2 and EP1, CS:S, FEAR, and Stalker and I kept AVG up and running the whole time. I was of course using a x1900 Pro.

I'd think about bumping up to 2GB of ram, and not sure what video card you're using.

did some further digging, a lot of those boards seem to die off after 6 months or have other hardware issues.

is this the exact model of cpu you are using?

Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (CZ),2MB,rev.F3,89W,SocketAM2

that's the only 6000 they list as compatible.

Not his main message body, but the link in Robisbell's first post has information on that. Did you already try that?

Please re-read my question to you. NOT in the message body (pagefile is completely unrelated to your problem), but in the LINK, did you do those registry settings?

The problem (as posted with respect to the OP's paged pool comment) has to do with PAGED POOL, not overall RAM, not virtual memory, not the pagefile, not video cards, and none of the hardware issues you list.

The issue is due to a problem with only a certain amount of paged pool space being available (measured in the megabytes, regardless of actual RAM in the system). The link shows how to increase the amount of paged pool in the system, which is one way to resolve this problem. Another way to resolve the problem is to identify drivers using this paged pool (AV drivers are by far the most common) and remove them (temporarily) until the issue can be understood.

Like so:

"OS Paged Pool Memory Low" Error

"Paged pool is an area of system memory that stores objects that can be transferred to the paging files on disk when they are not being used. This frees up physical memory for objects that are recently or frequently accessed."

Open the registry editor. That's done by going to Run, then type in "regedit."
In the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below: Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.
Megabytes Hexadecimal Decimal
192Mb 0c000000 201326592
256Mb 10000000 268435456
384Mb 18000000 402653184
You do not need anything bigger than 400Mb... in most cases 300Mb is too much as well. The bigger the number, the more memory you devote to the Paged Pool.
Once you are done, make sure you reboot your computer.

(from the original link)

This is my exact motherboard
http://www.ncix.com/products/i...0PLUS&manufacture=ASUS

This is my exact CPU
http://www.ncix.com/products/i...0CZBOX&manufacture=AMD

Both of those are 1 month old.

I downloaded the ProcessExplorer like the link said, It says if paged physical goes above 150mb something is wrong, I am guessing the values on the program and in k/b not m/b and my paged physical is only at 25,000 so 25mb? It was 50,000 before the game now its at 25,00 but the virtual went up to 71,000.

Also I don't know what commit is but its at 987,000 and the limit is 1,200,000 so that is high if that matters. Also the "OS Paged Pool Memory Low" isn't there anymore after I changed the memory like Robisbell said in the second post.

And after 5ish minutes of gaming the little box pops up on the system tray saying "Windows virtual memory too low"

Video card is nvidia geforce 7600 GT, but these freeze ups never occurred with my old cpu/mobo with the same video card.

I am going to buy another gig of ram soon.

you're going to have to physically check the cpu to see if it's the correct one. from what cpuz says it may or may not be.

Before you buy more RAM, can you confirm what your pagefile settings are right now? Automatic page file size, and the volume you have it on has plenty of free disk space? Can you actually see the pagefile and confirm its' on a diskvolume with freespace?

its 256-2048 like robisbell said to change in the first post, its on my only drive which is my C drive that has 40gig out of 127gigs freespace.
