odd... went to the HUP site, entered the information, received the email, clicked back to the HUP link with the option to "add to cart" - however, next screen tells me I haven't added anything to my cart....

Still works for me! Thanks OP. Got in on the 2010 version last year too. I was able to find that old email with the original link, and that takes me to the 2013 version buy page. Looks like I'm unable to view my 2010 information too, as when I click on it in my order history it gives me an error.

Not trying to threadcrap -- ten bucks is a great deal if you are eligible.

But if you're not, and if you're really a home user, the free alternatives like OpenOffice or LibreOffice very likely have all the features you need, with a lot less overhead and a lot more portability.
 
I just saw that Word allows for editing PDFs!!!!!

That alone is worth the $10 for me. Plus a lot of other nice extra features.
 
Anyone know how to just download the .iso or image of the DVD? I turned down the option for the $14 DVD disc thinking I could just download the .iso, as I did with Office 2010 (actually, an .exe that extracts the contents of a DVD...).

Instead, the installer that is given when purchasing Office 2013 attempts to install the product directly, which I'm not prepared to do at the moment.

The purchase page stated not to do this on your work PC because it installs to the computer you download it to, so you're stuck. That's why they offered the DVD backup disc. I'd call them and see if you can modify your order to included the DVD. Otherwise, you'll need to download it to the computer you intended to install it on.

Slickdeals has a walkthrough on how to use the ISO provided in the trial version and apparently it activates with the HUP key. Just do a search on SD for HUP.

Anyone know if you have the option to purchase OS's too? I'm surfing around, but I can't find a direct price/nor link for W7 or W8. Do they not do it the same way? They seem to be directing you to resellers....

Not to my knowledge, no OS offers through MS HUP. If you want to buy the OS, I'd suggest getting in on the deal to download for $39 before the end of this month when the price is supposedly going to increase.

Part of me thinks wait and see, because maybe nobody will buy it after the price increase, then resellers will be forced to lower prices on firesales, but maybe not.
 
FWIW, you can also get the Mac 2011 version for the same price, but since it's one per customer, you have to choose. I had a coworker pick pay for and download it.

Does anyone know if it's one per person or one per email? I have a couple of test emails at work I could use on the page and I'd like to get a copy for my parents.

Its nice being able to procure the software legitimately this way. I don't think I would have paid hundreds of dollars for it, but its glad to know my company does pay hundreds of dollars for it 😛

I still use Office 2007 at home from the last sale that happened a few years ago. I don't plan to jump to Office 2013, so this serves as a nice backup copy in case I ever do need it.

Yeah I use OpenOffice already but thanks for mentioning that anyway. I actually prefer some things about it too. The main problem is that although the new ms offices are supposed to read the file types really well, I still end up with weird things results when I try to save it in .doc. It would be nice to not have to worry about it is all, but these alternatives do work very well and so thank you for bringing it up.
