A gig of RAM for roughly 110 bucks is a great deal, especially for Crucial.
Edit: (Watch, in two weeks everyone will think this deal is a rip off when 512MB can be had for 15 bucks a stick)
If you bump it down to PC2100 speed it will work greatOriginally posted by: BeastBuy
Anyone know if I can pop this into a Dell Dimension 4550? (P4 2.4ghz, 533mhz FSB, which is currently using PC2700 ram.) What'll happen, will it not work, or worse yet, explode?
Thanks!

If you overclock to 533FSB, no guarantee it will work. Probably will, but no guarantee![]()

so will going from 256mb -> 512mb on winxp pro with lotsa stuff running at the same time help reduce swapping? I have 256mb right now and although the performance monitor shows like 80mb free memory when i got lotsa stuff running, a fair amount of swapping still occurs... i also get out of virtual memory messages sometimes...
