Steve Nash to the Lakers

Still think they should move Bynum and Gasol too

Bynum is a mental midget, and Pau is past his prime

Now the million dollar question is - do they think that a new PG is the answer and try again with the current cast, or sell the farm (Bynum) to try and get Howard (if they can convince him to sign long term)?

Wait a second - I just read the details. So he's being traded for picks only? When did that change?

I thought that salaries had to match (within a small margin) in an NBA trade.

Lakers are really going all in with this move

Kobe isn't getting any younger. Nash is a defensive liability at PG and is obviously not a long term PG solution. Lakers are givin up lots of picks to rebuild/reload.

Gasol is still a question mark on whether to keep or trade and Bynum's maturity is a HUGE issue.

if they win a championship, then the sacrifice is worth it. if they don't win a championship, Lakers might be seeing many years of mediocrity.

Mitch Kupchak really does earn his pay. Getting Nash without giving up any talent? And Nash is gonna recruit Grant Hill to follow him to LA.

Color me impressed.

Depending on how Kobe plays, this can be huge for the Lakers. Gasol and Bynum will see their numbers go through the roof now that they have someone to feed them the ball. Packing in the paint won't work when Nash is out on the wing.

His defense is suspect, but that doesn't mean too much. The Lakers have been a sieve defensively at PG for a decade and won six titles. Having two 7 footers behind you makes up for someone blowing past you.

Of course this all only works if Kobe accepts his new role as both off the ball and third scoring option. If he doesn't take to either role this will not work.

They had a trade exception banked from the Lamar Odom to the Mavs deal.
