ESPN says:

"Police said the 36-year-old McNair was found on the sofa in the living room, and Kazemi was very close to him on the floor. Aaron said the gun was not "readily apparent" when police first arrived."

There's a chance the gun was under a table/couch/something that made it out of plain sight.

They generally don't start immediately moving things until they remove the bodies and then start searching for evidence. So odds are they simply did not see a weapon.


EDIT: They are also now reporting that two days prior Sahel Kazemi was arrested for DUI driving with Steve McNair in the passenger seat of an 2007 Escalade that was Co-Owned by both of them.

Why Steve co-owned an Escalade with a 20 year old woman and was in an appartment with her. All signs point to kept mistress. I mean there's a chance she could be a business associate, but who knows.

When I first heard about this, about 10 pm last night, I checked Wikipedia and it already had all those details up (the woman's name, that it was her place, that a gun was found near her, etc.). The police just didn't officially release the details until today.

The part about the time is new to me.
