It's a real pic IMO. If it wasnt apple would of already sent out some pics to show Jobs in good health. Jobs being deathly sick is bad for apple and if there was evidence to support him being healthy you'd seen it by now

Heck, if the pic was fake, I'd think by this time Apple would've already slapped TMZ with a lawsuit/injunction to have the pic taken down for Jobs.

The lack of any action like that by Jobs/Apple says a lot.

When was the last time you saw a pancreatic cancer patient look all great and wonderful?

Pancreatic cancer often has a poor prognosis: for all stages combined, the 1- and 5-year relative survival rates are 25% and 6%, respectively; for local disease the 5-year survival is approximately 20% while the median survival for locally advanced and for metastatic disease, which collectively represent over 80% of individuals, is about 10 and 6 months respectively.

billions of dollars and decades of research and all we have is cut/burn/poison. Cancer is out there waiting for all of us. We think we live in modern times but in many ways our medical "science" is still in the stone age. I'm not a apple fan but Jobs achievement in the industry is undeniable. Value your time with friends and family. It's later then you think.

Very true.

Cancer is extra hard because primarily what we're dealing with is our own tissue/cells gone out of control/mutation/degradation/etc. Because they're still living tissue, harming/killing the cancer while not harming/killing the rest of the cells around it is a mofo to do.

Really at this point something like stem cell therapy (whereby you can give a boost to the recovery process and greatly speed the regrowth of healthy cells to replace the destroyed/defective ones) seems like the most promising option. Far from perfect, but most of our cancer 'cures' are sort of like throwing gasoline on a fire and hoping for the best.

TMZ is a tabloid. The same type of news outlet that says Elvis is still alive. Now, they do get the occasional news right but they make shit up more often than not. Not saying it is 100% fake but I'm more inclined to believe it is fake than it being real.

I didn't think the photos were fake... Definitely don't now.

I just saw the photos now, that's pretty much exactly how my dad looked before he died from lung cancer. It wears you away to nothing.

Must have been real. That was pretty fast.

I wonder if the iPhone 4s backlash crushed him.

do you think steve may be faking his own death? i wouldnt be surprised. now that android is outselling iphone by a pretty wide margin he may be trying to exit to save face before apple ends up like rim

Obviously he's dead, it's bad for his reputation if we find out he's alive. It's APPLE who's faking an iphone release to prop up share price before it tanks tomorrow. iPhone 4S will never see the light of day.

truth be told, I expected him to not make it past 2010. He was a huge outlier for pancreatic cancer, which is, I think, ~5% survival at 5 years? maybe 3 years.

His was rare, though, and qualified him for the liver transplant.

he looks lucky to make it 6 weeks...

:(

unfortunately, i was right...

i know everyone automatically assumes that only apple fans would be saddened by the passing of steve jobs, but that's not the case. steve jobs was a visionary. technology wouldn't be where it is today without him. movies with computer animation wouldn't have been the same without his influence. computers, in general, wouldn't be as fast or small as they have become without him. without computers, the world wouldn't be as interconnected. he was a pioneer and a driving force in technological advancements in more than just computers and phones. his inventions have improved the lives of millions and his contributions to society through popular culture products as well as spawning a new generation of how movies are made and experienced changed the landscape of our daily lives. the man constantly strived to live up to his own motto: think different.

here's to you, steve jobs.
