you're aren't a gamer so you wouldn't be able to relate

Don't assume, Never Assume. Bad thing making assumptions like that. Where'd I say I wasn't a gamer?

I for one have more games then application installed on my computers. I Frag with the best and have standings in many places. I'm never at a disadvantage because of a poor mousepad. Poor skills maybe, just learning a new game, or mod, sure. But never have I used the excuse with my team that "sorry guys, it's my mousepad"

ReMeDy{WcS} I`m going to upgrade my old Logitical Optical Mouseman Wheel to the new MX500 or MX700 anyway,so the Black Icemat or SteelPad(which`s actually aluminium) will work fine,I don`t mind spending good money on a quality mouse pad being I`m a gamer,it`s like having a good quality PSU with a good quality case, so a good quality mouse with a good quality mouse pad is worth the cost IMHO.

You`re missing the point,if you`re a good or bad gamer it makes sense to use a decent mouse pad especially with a good mouse, people will spend good money on PSU,ram etc ,the mouse pad is just another step in the same direction ,it`s not about how good or bad you`re at gaming.I`m sort of person that when I buy good speakers will use decent speaker cable, to me the mouse and mouse pad is the same principle.

Also take the Everglide Giganta Optical Mouse pad for example, it actually helps increase battery life with cordless optical mice, the reason being the sensor does not have to use so much power to scan the mouse pad surface .

I didn't even mention anyone in particular in the thread and i get a repsonse from the guilty. 🙂 But Mem already hit the nail on the head. If you can afford to buy a aftermarket heatsink for 30 to 40$. Why is 20 to 25$ too much for such a product as a steel mousemeat? You aren't just buying a mousemat, you're making an investment. 🙂

I don't mean to hijack this thread but, my Razer BS's are frustratingly filth after 2 or 3 maps on any surface. (12 Boomslangs Later) I have the Logitech D/O but it's a tad bit too small for my big hands. The Boomslang is nice and wide and my hand just rest on it easy. Holding the Logitech D/O is like Clutching a gerbil and aches. Can someone give me a recommendation for my big ass hand? 🙂

Guilty of what? Again your assuming facts not in evidence. Don't do that! :frown:

speaking personaly this computer I built uses a stock hs and and a plain old enlight case with the 340watt ps that came with it. Yes I OC as well with no problems.

Now, I played with a boomslang for a while (3 weeks) never though that much of it. Got a friend of mine that swears by them and I'm always toasting him and plenty of other BS users. Right now I use the latest optical from logitech and my free mouspad with no problems in my games. If you want to buy into the argument the BS is a better mouse that's fine, IMHO it's in the mind not the hand. Same for the pad, after all, no amount of equipment makes up for skill. No, I'm not saying you (or anyone) lacks skill, or that I'm better, or more skillfull. 🙂

Seems inaccurate to say normal mousepads don't wear out in 5 yrs. I have never had a normal pad that lasts a year without fraying and grunginess....I have had ratpadz for about 18 months, as good as new...
