Steam Summer Sale 2015 Official Whatcha Gonna Buy Thread

Not too many games on my radar at this point. Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Rogue, Far Cry 4, or Shadow of Mordor. I'm not expecting a big discount on any of those anyway, so there's a good chance I walk away with nothing but a full wallet.

Very very tempting, but I hate manually adding games back into Steam. I am Big Picture's bitch.

It is interesting you bring that up. I found an interesting phenomena for myself. When I have my games in List form, I tend to buy more than if I have them in Picture form. In picture form, I look at them and go - I didn't know I had that. lol....

Big Picture is the only way in Steam to sort by full controller support games, and I won't touch a game now without full controller support.

I will learn from my mistake and not by ANY early access games like last year, about %50 of the ones i bought have not been updated since them.
^ Yup, if you have any early access games on your wishlist, do a little research on them about update frequency and dev activity before buying, however Steam refund should apply to most of them (I was refunded for one of the early access games myself).

I still need to get Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, so if the price is right I'll bite.

Make sure it is cheap. I paid full price on day one and still regret it.

Back to the original topic, I have too many unplayed games already. I would like to pick up Divinity Original Sin, but it never seems to get really cheap.

If anyone likes racing games, look for Dirt Rally.

It's early access, but I paid full price for it a couple weeks back and am thoroughly happy with it. It doesn't feel early access to me.

I doubt it will go on sale since it's new and already like 15% off, but Ark Survival looks pretty good, and has been getting pretty good reviews. I haven't played ANY of the survival games (Rust, DayZ, etc)... this is the first that looks interesting to me.

After that :

Invisible Inc.
Darkest Dungeon
Windward
Grav
Besiege
Savage Lands
The Escapists
This War of Mine
Child of Light

have all gotten good reviews and sound interesting. I'll bite at 50%+ off.

For better known, bigger studio games, only X-Wing (which I still have the original box and floppies), and maybe Valkyria Chronicles looks like a 'Tales' game and might be fun.

hoping for a nice deep sale on Beyond Earth, especially with the expansion coming out.

no way I'd pay full price with such mediocre reviews, but I'd pull the trigger at +50% off.

I might also be interested in Grim Dawn if it goes cheap. Is anyone playing it now? Is it a finished product, i.e. not buggy and fairly complete? Seems like it has been out forever but still is always in beta.

Probably won't buy anything. Maybe it's just the type of games I play, but seems to me Steam's discounts are not as good as they used to be (and usually not as good as what other sites give nowadays).

I just wanted to confirm that I did get an email on the 9th from paypal that said the sale starts the 11th. They are trying to pimp their gift cards...

I dunno if I'll buy anything. I must have 50 games I haven't touched and about the only thing I've been playing is BF2 with the AIX 2.0 mod. I think I'm getting old.

Wasteland 2 is worth a LOT more than five bucks.
Its the best of Baldurs Gate 2 and Fallout 2 in a 3D rendered package. Awesome story (once you get into it) and loads of good dungeon crawling.

I put over 120 hours into WL2 (bought it full price at release because I'm a huge Fallout fan), its one of the few games in recent times where I spent so much time in without feeling tedious.

Also another must have: This War of Mine

Best game I've played in many years.

DON'T!!!!

From what I read that the enhance edition take away a lot of the scene and dialogue of the original game. I wanted all 3 so bad then found out that it not vanilla plus better graphics, it more like a slim down version of the vanilla game. The word I'm looking for is "dumb down". Hope that help. Now i'll just deal with the horrible graphic of the original.

Source? I recently played the Enhanced version of BG1 and didn't notice any dumbing down, though it's been a while since I played my original version...
