Steam Summer Sale 2012 question (Sale does not start soon so relax)

Missed Fallout 3 GOTY last sale due to Paypal shenanigans, I hope it gets 75% off for this one.

Also hoping to get RAGE for less than $10. Choplifter HD, Space Marine, Trine 2, Serious Sam 3 And The Witcher 2 for $10 or less. TDU2 for $3.

Those are reasonable expectations. RAGE has already been down to $15 multiple times, so $10 makes sense for this summer. TW2 is old enough to hit the $10 mark as well. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Space Marine and SS3 go as low as $7.50 each.

I'd probably pick up TDU2 for $3. Was tempted to pick it up at $5, but I keep hearing about how much it sucks. $3 is my "fuck it, buy it anyway" purchase level.

There's a lot that I'm looking for...Dead Island for sub-$10 would be nice as well. Did I miss it at $9.99 before or something?

It was on sale for $10 or $11 a couple weeks ago. My buying price for Dead Island is $5. Would be higher, but Day Z already fulfills my open-world zombie needs with flying colors.

OHHH yea, I remember now. I decided to just pass it up and wait and see what the summer sale brings. Wasn't Saints Row 3 on sale a week or two ago too? Same decision lol. Besides, at this point, it can often be more efficient to just grab 2 $4.99 games than one $9.99.

I'm looking forward to Dead Island finally being cheap, Trine 2, hoping for SSFIV, the new Ridge Racer and the new Choplifter, Toy Soldiers and cheap Alan Wake.

I'm ready Steam... bring it.

More questions (just thinking out loud here):

I wonder if they'll have any contests and gift-earning stuff like the Holiday Sale? Remember all those wonderful coupons?

I ended up trading someone L4D and two other unheard of games that I won for Wings of Prey. Good deal for me!

Last summer they had the Prize Booth, where you could win tickets from getting achievements and choose free stuff. I liked it better than the Christmas Sale, because rather than the prizes being totally random (and getting useless coal), you could pick the prize for yourself so you knew what you were getting. The Prize Booth remained persistent throughout the entire sale so you could spend multiple days working up to winning a prize you wanted.

They will do something for the summer sale I'm pretty sure. TF2 has had some weird item called pocket lint that has just recently (i think that is what it was called) started dropping that isn't used for anything currently in the game.

Valve will be trolling us a bit this year. It seems the Summer Sale probably wont start will mid July (12th more then likely). A dev made a comment about how Valve told him to push back the release of his game to the end of the July when it was going to come out in the middle of it. There are some other little indicators that could prove this is right too.

So we might be looking two weeks longer till the sale then we originally expected. Lets hope it does start though in a few days!

lol great responses. I hope it isn't true, I need my fix damn it. Already have my wallet filled up from a few Gamestop gift cards I had 😀

Okay, that is the pessimistic way to look at it. Or, we could have a sale that lasts two weeks longer then normal...
