I'm pretty sure most of the people saying they used a mouse and keyboard didn't play Batman for very long. I played it for like 30 minutes WITH a controller before deciding I didn't like it.

haha, I beat it twice with mouse/kb and am in the top 300 in almost all challenges. The B:AA team did a really fantastic job porting it to PC and making the controls feel natural.

So there.

I played Just Cause 2 last night and the controls are really really clunky. Maybe I should pull out my 360 controller. You can definitely tell it's made for console.

Yeah I found the controller to be superior for JC2. There's so much auto-aim that it doesn't matter that it's less precise than a mouse.

Hm. You know, I re-bought Arkham Asylum since it's much easier to play on PC then it is to dislodge my wife from the TV. I'm actually finding it easier with the K/M then with the controller. It's very forgiving either way, but I can turn the camera much faster with the K/M then the controller, and that's very helpful when trying to find the next target in a flowing combo.

And meh. SupCom 1 had great things, and big issues. SupCom 2 lost the great things, kept the issues.

on the subject of Just Cause 2, i assume that this is not very KB/M friendly? I have an oldish Saitek gamepad that I've tried using with the 360gamepad emulator that someone here had linked me to, and I am not a fan. At least, not with Darksiders--the button layout is kind of ridiculous for the game pad.

Absolutely. You can't even use batarangs without a controller!

lol, stupid again!

but, I did use batarangs much less without the controller. Combos ar enot as easy with KB/M, but the game is easy enough without a controller. combos are basically unnecessary, as in the crowded situations, you pretty much want the big thug guys to ram into and take out all the other thugs anyway.

I don't know if anyone else here is familiar with Just Cause 2 but what am I supposed to do when I get to a town? Just blow stuff up and find stuff? The percentage of completion for a town goes up when I blew something up or found parts. Is that the whole point of the game?

That's one of the many things you can do.

There are over 300 towns, cities, and military bases. Each one has a number of things you can destroy and a number of items you can pick up (money stashes and upgrade parts). Once you have picked up every item and destroyed everything important, you get 100% for that settlement and it gives you a bonus in terms of chaos points and money.

Technically, what you're supposed to do is advance the story by completing agency missions (basically, the main quest). But before you can even do an agency mission, you have to get enough chaos points first. You get those by doing faction missions (side quests) and by just blowing stuff up.

The real point of the game, though, is that it's a big wide-open sandbox where you can go around, blow stuff up, complete races, and just have fun. Dying doesn't really set you back. If you're a completionist, you can try to get 100% in every settlement. That'll take a long time though.

I have long since gotten enough chaos points just from going around and destroying stuff to unlock every agency mission, but I haven't finished the game yet. The storyline isn't really compelling, it's just a basic framework so you have something to do when you don't feel like free roaming. Still, I'd say the vast majority of the time I've played the game has been free roaming.

Ooh. Which one should I get? I've never played any of the Hitman games.

All of them are great, but you may be able to pass up on the first one just because one of the newer hitman(I forgot which) is a sort of remake of the missions from the original. These are great games, and I really wish that the Assassin's Creed series would follow this form of open ended gameplay and stealth more. The soundtrack for these games is superbly amazing.

And by the way, I have to say that Just Cause 2 is the best deal I've ever gotten on anything (I actually bought the game during the Xmas sale, but finally got around to playing it now). This game is too freaking fun. Very mindless violence, and I am finding it to be rather relaxing just hijacking a jet and flying about the gorgeous Island and sight seeing. I'm also very impressed the engine and the amount of detail put into the breathtaking geography of the islands. Why couldn't GTA4 used this engine...

my favorite part of GTA San Andreas was hopping into the jet and flying all over the place, parachuting out into some ridiculous spot and watching the plane careen into some structure.

I imagine that hijacking the plane and using it to cause actual destruction would be more satisfying...though admitting to such feelings might alert the FBI to my vicarious entertainment choices.

:hmm:

Blood Money is the best of them all from what I can remember

Yeah, Blood Money is probably the best of the bunch. I cannot seem to find my original game so I may have to pick it up again since it's on sale for a few bucks. Does anyone know if it supports 16:10?

saturday is live, not that anyone will care for what is offered lol

I wonder how many people will actually buy those two shitty games for $5 a piece. They're not even worth that. I don't even think I would play them if they were free.

lol, the game is just over 6 months old, and can be had for $5?

I hope they put Deus Ex on tomorrow. I've never played them and would be willing to jump for 5 bucks or less.

I passed during the Christmas sale.
