Steam Midweek Madness: Deus Ex series 75% off

Win.
Of course, I already have 1, and you dont need the disc in the drive if you copy over all the files and change the DeusEx.ini, but still, its cool.

Deus Ex 1 is a FPS / RPG hybrid, more so a FPS. It is one of the two best FPS / RPG hybrids ever made, the other being Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines.

If you have never played it, buy Deus Ex 1, NOW.

I just might do that...and how is the 2nd one compared to the first? Worth buying or not?

An example of this is that KOTOR I is MUCH better than II and I would barely recommend getting the second.

do these actually work with windows 7 64bit?
Yes.

You can even run Deus Ex in DX10 to work out a few of the engines issues with modern PC's.

You may also want to update the graphics using these two mods, even if they are only both beta releases.

Also a texture pack for Invisible War.

There's absolutely nothing I will buy on Steam for the next few months 😛 That EA week was devastating 😀

Steam just finished up having a weeklong sale on select EA games and , like me, he probably spent WAY to much money

Deus Ex is still fun to play. Since it was so popular there are lots of graphical mods. There's a high res texture mod as well as a DX10 renderer floating around, that are easy to install. Worth the effort as it sharpens up the game.

i don't get it... can you explain this comment?

I think he means he spent way too much money during last week's EA Week promotion.

I would have spent a lot as well, if I had any extra money to spend 🙁

I'll think about this one though. I own both Deus Ex and DXIW, but I lost my Deus Ex disc. $5 ain't bad at all...and this reminds me that I never actually beat either of these games...or Thief: Deadly Shadows.

Fun game! I haven't finished it yet for some reason. This reminds me that I need to get going on another playthrough, and this time I need to complete the damn game.

Hmm... I thought I was pretty clear. I spent too much already for games this past week? I usually buy a game or two a month. But the EA deals were too good and for games I want to play, so I bought them now, for the future. Since you play one game at a time, I have many months filled with gaming ahead for me.

Now, I understand people saying "but it's only $5". But why does the amount matter? Would I play this game if I bought it now? Not in the next foreseeable future, no. Not to mention, why sould I spend money on any more games now? I already spent plenty last week.

Perhaps devastating was not the right word to use? I meant that the past deals on Steam were so good that I just couldn't pass on them. And on games I actually want to play. Deus Ex is not a game I'm thrilled to play, hence me buying it would be not really something necessary. More like "it's a deal, I'll bite" for something I don't need and not planning on playing. Buying a game because it's cheap and I might play it in the more distant future = no.

Check out the Nameless mod for Deus Ex. pretty amazing. I just started it. Alot of inside jokes which the game is based around, and if you can get based the game being based on a gaming forum....
