Steam is down

What is so great about STEAM?

Why not just buy the actual game? Or does downloading it worth it to save the effort of going to the store?

Cus you can get games for real cheap on the weekend deals. I don't care about reselling games.

Games are cheap, updates automatically, no need for CD.

Games are cheap... from Amazon.co.uk or Play.com.
Steam? Not so much.

The deals are a bonus too. In US or UK maybe it's not as cheap- I'm not sure, but here in Australia, Steam is cheapest.

Many people prefer it's DRM over DRM distributed through retail channels.

Logging in is working fine for me .. but I really wanted the $5 TR deal.. however when I go to my cart it doesn't load. 🙁

TR really worth it? I was planning to pass on this deal, first time I haven't purchased their weekend deal in a while.

Because I can go anywhere and still play all of my games without having to take 30-40 DVDs with me. 🙂

I havent had a problem with steam in over 3 years. You guys might look at your ISPs or something on your end. Runs just fine here on 3 different computers.

9 times out of 10 I've found whenever steam is down, it's on my end.

While this can be true for me as well, there's never anything I can do about it. Steam can and will go down for pockets of players (players on my friends lists and various shared groups will all be playing together and we'll have one or a few lose connection to steam while everyone else is still fine but everyone will still be on Vent/TS2...), and its pretty ridiculous the frequency at which it happens.

But you'll spend hours if not days re-downloading all of those games. 😉

You're getting lucky.

There's been at least a few times in the last couple months when i've been playing with friends locally & online, & it's gone down.
For all of us.
