So you could buy the game and hope for the best. I mean you can always grow into map packs if it gets really annoying.

Don't other games have map packs too? BF2 had lots of addon's. I can't think of any other game that has this problem.

I just tried the game out on steam...I must say, the graphics look terrible and the game plays really awkwardly, not my cup of tea.
 
For this one I'd actually prefer that they use matchmaking. 90% of the PC servers are just for leveling quickly (24/7 tiny map with 18 people and choppers shooting everyone).
 
Well, I downloaded it. Tried to join 3 different servers and didn't have the maps for any of them.

I tried matchmaking and got up into a Russian server. After I joined the match I found that the game doesn't properly support multi monitor setups (everything is all stretched, looks like crap). I found a fix at Widescreen Gaming Forum, but really it's a pretty new title, you'd think they would have added support for it.

Uninstalled, back to BC2 🙂

That's what I hate about COD4. I played the hell out of it a few years ago when it was new and had a blast. Tried to play again recently and almost every server was 24/7 Killhouse or Shipment with 30+ people. Stupid as fuck, it's completely random and you just die over and over again. I don't know why anyone would enjoy that crap.

Sadly there aren't a whole lot of servers where people actually play the game as it's meant to be played, so COD4 is basically dead to me.
 
LOL. I can't even get passed the main menu anymore. I went to settings and configured the buttons and now none of the menu buttons work when I click on them. I can't even quit the game from within the game. I have to alt-tab and end process. Any suggestions? Do I meet the minimum system requirements? :hmm: ... but really, I should be able to play this game, right?

i5-750, 5850 oc, 4g ram, etc...

edit: added exception to antiVir, firewall settings ok. DERP

EDIT2: In conclusion, I'm a tard brain. I accidentally bound 'screenshot' to 'left mouse button.' I shit you not, I just took like 200 screenshots of the main menu. Herp. A. Derp.

Took all day to download and 20 minutes to suck ass.
Very pretty and clunky. Classic consolitis.
Am so glad I did not spend the money.
 
Wow. This game sucks ass. Played 10 minutes. Gameplay seemed okay until some bug happens every other minute where my man just freezes and I have to rejoin the server. Graphics are horrific. Uninstalled it immediately.

Please if you're looking for a multiplayer spend $20 or whatever BC2 costs and buy that.

It must be something wrong on your end. I played for about an hour and didn't have any of those problems. Try checking file integrity? Video drivers? Network card?

That said, I wasn't a big fan. It's another mediocre Call of Duty game. Not really worth my money.

lol...why even bother playing it you guys hate it so much?
 
Wow I played for a few minutes before I couldn't stand it anymore. It kept constantly stuttering even though the fps was solid above 60 and was playing on a server with a latency of less than 20. The graphics were pretty bad(the gun models in particular look like ass) and the movement just felt off. Even Modern Warfare 2 looks and feels better. Confirms my belief in skipping the CoD games made by Treyarch.

The game would still be going on it's just my man would freeze and all I could do was watch. Either way it's not worth messing with for this game and my system is 100% stable as I have no issues gaming for hours on lots of other titles.
